Today I fabricated braces that go from the front of the winch (where the fairlead use to attach) to the front bumper. These braces strengthen the winch during pulls. I used 2"x2" x 3/8" angle against the winch. I used 3" C-channel for the brace and another piece of 2"x2" x 3/8" angle against...
Another good progress day today! Started by replacing the hood support pole with a shorter one. Got a used one from the scrapper earlier this year. Sanded it, primed it and painted it. Installed it later when the paint dried.
Next I lifted the batteries into place to see how they fit. Good...
Made some progress today. Started by wire wheeling the rust off the recycled weight trays. Used the rust inhibitor and then painted the weight trays and surrounding area with green CARC substitute paint.
I also notched the upper triangles that attach the bumper so that the battery...
Here are some progress shots. I marked and drilled the mounting holes into thew cross-member for the winch. I also removed the fairlead from the winch. I will custom mount it to the bumper. I primed and painted the area in-between the frame rails. I had someone help me put the winch back on...
Went out early this morning to work on the LONG shackle mount bolts that I had trouble installing. They would not line up with the bottom holes. So I removed the 2 large bolts that held the bottom shackle mounts in place as well as the smaller bolts that held the triangle piece to the bumper...
LOL That is the end of a 3 way outdoor extension cord. We used it to run the angle grinder. We were too tired to thoroughly clean up and I wanted to capture a few pictures of the work we did. You know members wine when you don't post pictures. :grd:
Update: I started to install an MRAP 24 volt 18,000lb winch on my M923 cargo truck. Juan Prado came over this morning and we tackled the project together. I am glad I had the help! With the heat outside and the weight of the parts it was a big help. We removed the large chain I had hanging...
I disagree. It's a cheap way to keep the cooling system clean. The filters are cheap. I have one on all my MVs. I used the ports that feed the heater to run the bypass coolant filter. I installed a T fitting in the beginning of the plumbing and added 2 ball valves on each input and output...
You are blaming the messenger for the message. GP is the one that stated to the reporter that they were issuing the SF97 form and did not state we had to sign a form that it would be for off-road use only.
If you disconnect the steel cable from that set screw in the 3rd picture, can you move the plunger further towards the firewall direction? If so then move the cable outer shield towards the firewall and re-tighten the clamp that secures it. That will allow the inner wire to pull the plunger...
They look similar to the MRAP seats I have for sale on Ebay. They fold like the ones in the picture and have a 5 point seat belt setup. I am attaching pictures of them installed by a customer on his Jeep.
I want to thank swbradley1 for at least listening to my PM comments without threatening to ban me for over certain observations that I brought to his attention. I cannot say the same about certain other mods as well as the admin. I get the response "moderators do not have to follow the rules...
