    No Start, Engine Spins slowly

You need to load test your batteries. Load tester is cheap to get. I got mine through AMAZON.com.

GP listing says sf97 now available for hmmwv

Speaking of SF97, how do you obtain a SF97 from GSA? I need to get the SF97 for the 2 trailers we got last month.

Extremely Negative Experience - Jared at Ft Carson CO

I think that is funny. Ban everyone. BTW boycott is not collusion. Collusion is an agreement between two or more parties, sometimes illegal and therefore secretive, to limit open competition by deceiving, misleading, or defrauding others of their legal rights, or to obtain an objective...

Extremely Negative Experience - Jared at Ft Carson CO

That is what happens when there is a MONOPOLY. Prices are high and customer service is no where to be found. I wonder what would happen if all SteelSoldiers members decided to boycott GL?

Extremely Negative Experience - Jared at Ft Carson CO

If GL only has 2 days per week that an item can be recovered then you have 5 weeks to recover the item. I will bet a court would only count the days that GL allows recovery as days to count. I think a class action law suit is a good way to wake them up a bit. I do not appreciate their...

Anyone Using MRAP Air Dryer In M939 Series Truck

I got what was supposed to be an air dryer from an MRAP. It has a governor built in. Has anyone tried to retrofit it onto a M939 truck? If so what did you do about the connections?

Has title but not other paperwork - issue?

You are correct. I had to pay a penalty for a trailer I owned that I never titles after purchase. It never went on the road. When I sold it I had to pay all the penalty and fees to get it up to date. Then the buyer was able to transfer the title and registration to his name. We did it all...

Juan Prado's XM1073 trailer repair thread

I made some good progress today. I started by melting 2 short pieces of shrink tubing on the hitch pin near the handle. It will act as a stop and buffer for the cap. I then proceeded to weld washers on the non threaded end of the 1-1/4" gas pipe. I then enlarged the hole in the washer to...

Juan Prado's XM1073 trailer repair thread

Yep and exactly the type of trailer I was searching for. I ended up with an upgrade from the M1061 I was searching for.

Juan Prado's XM1073 trailer repair thread

Right about what? Green one was in much better condition. It had a bent front jack assembly that I straightened out. It had some minor damage to one of the "wire" steps that protects one of the rear jacks when in up position. I pulled it out with a come-a-long. Had one missing air hose and...

Juan Prado's XM1073 trailer repair thread

Juan and I purchased 2 XM1073 trailers from GSA last month. When we went to recover the trailer we found out that the rear stabilizer jacks were damaged. Both jacks had the retainer pin assembly sheared off. The retainer pin assemblies were nowhere to be found. We had to secure the jack in...

    goldneagle's 1985 M1008 recovery and restoration thread...

Thank you for clarifying that question. That wire is the ground wire for the trailer electric brake actuator. The installer only had red wire to do the job. (kind of like those thin black wires going to the positive terminals on the M939 series trucks) (in that case (M939) they should have...

    goldneagle's 1985 M1008 recovery and restoration thread...

2 reasons. 1: its also the Positive 12 volt from the front battery. 2: it was red from the factory as well. (N) (P)-----(N) (P) = 24V

Pully Removal on a 5 CFM Compressor

Try prying the back plate away from the pulley. I think it used compression to hold the pulley on. I got mine off a couple of years ago, but don't remember how I did it. Was going to do the same engine replacement as you are doing.

The lock at the end of the chain

Looks like the key number is on the lock. Might be able to order a new key from Master. Kinda dumb to leave the key number on a lock.

    goldneagle's 1985 M1008 recovery and restoration thread...

Today I finally upgraded the 12 Volt power cable in my truck. There have been discussions on SteelSoldiers about the 12 volt cable being under-sized for the truck. Especially after adding the glow plugs to the circuit with the glow plug mod. I ended up using some parts from my 5 ton...
