With help from a friend we got the Cummins engine running in the deuce today. Sorry, no video.
First, I tightened the clear reinforced hose on the mechanical lift pump inlet (driver side of engine) and pressed the primer bulb. About 50 thumb presses later I had fuel to the top of the fuel...
Unfortunately, the truck isn't running on the road yet. However, a major milestone was reached yesterday - I bumped the starter for the first time.
I'm trying to prime the fuel system, bleed the Hydroboost brakes, and finish installing a reconditioned transfer case. Good thing I have 26...

I can't comment on swapping the 5.9L Cummins because I ain't done yet.
Be glad I couldn't get my hands on a HET because I would have bobbed me one of those too!
Why do people insist on griping about modified deuces in the "Deuce Modification and Hot-Rodding" forum? That's like wiping your butt before you take a dump. Pointless.

Below is a picture of the solution for using the factory Deuce shutdown cable on the Cummins 6BT. It cost $0.34 for...
I updated my HanksDeuce.com website to show the install of the Cummins engine + Allison transmission (50 pictures to view!).
Recent completions:
1) Finished manual shutdown cable install. I removed the factory electric shutdown solenoid crap.
2) Installed a new throttle pedal and cable.
3)...
Here's P3 Recovery doing a self recovery when he got stuck. I wonder why he didn't have the truck in reverse with light throttle while he's winching rearward? Maybe it had something to do with the parking brake PTO setup?

Thanks for posting the 24R21 tire size Hawssie. I just spent a few minutes pondering what they would look like on my bobbed deuce. They are Michelin XZLs. I'd need to find 21" rims though. Not much to choose from.
Baton Rouge Rubber House can make the hoses while you wait. On Choctaw Drive near Airline Hwy. They have every fitting known to man for a fluid or air in a hose.
