Old post but figured someone might still be interested. I did the mogman special. But I couldn’t get the old unit out. Thus I just kept the waste gate in and modified it in the truck.
A little more digging and I found something in the brake system called a brake pressure regulator. A quick google of what that is and it states that it is a proportioning valve. So my question now is where would I put the adjustable valve?
Haha I figured it was setup to have a bunch of weight in the back. I’ll have to loader up with some sand
Definitly like the idea of adding an adjustment
I have an M1152A1 that brakes fine when it’s dry out but add a little snow then the back end seems to slide out way earlier that expected.
Is there a way to adjust the proportioning valve or should I just leave it alone.
So I’m looking to add a winch to my M1152A1. It has the front winch bumper with the large hole cut out in the middle.
My questions are:
1. Is there another plate/bracket I need to add to stiffen the front bumper? or can I mount it right to the existing bumper and that’s good enough?
2. What...
I have the same truck. So plug it back together and start the truck and rev it. If it sounds really loud like a big fan blowing than something isn’t working correctly. For me it was the thermostatic switch on the water crossover pipe thing. If yours isn’t working I would start there. So the...
So I’m looking to make a piece to close out my right fender. I believe the piece that originally was there is an armored piece. I tried a bunch of bolts I had laying around but nothing matched up. I also looked in some of the manuals but couldn’t find it.
Thanks in advance!!!
Is there a way to test the glow plug controller? I have read there is but possible only older controllers. I tested the one in my truck and didn’t pass any of the tests. I replaced it about a year ago so I’m assuming it is fine. I believe it is a KDS yellow band type.
Reason for testing is I...
So I did test the voltage to the wires last year when I changed the glow plugs and they got 24 volts. Also the voltage drops on the gauge during the wait period. But I’m not knowledgeable in the glow processes. I still have to test the other 4 glow plugs on the passenger side.
My exhaust on a...
Started truck and took the 569B wire of the injection pump and then reconnected it. I could hear the difference when doing that.
I tested the driver side plugs today and they all registered between 1.2-2.5.
I also plugged the block heater in for an hour then started it……no smoke. So glow plugs...
Ok back to my smoke again. Thought I had it figured out but I don’t. Tested the cold advance switch on the back right of the engine. I have continuity through the switch. Also have 24 volts to the switch and all the way to the 569B wire at the top of the injector pump. So I’m getting power...
Did some more looking. There is about an inch of dirt on the bottom in the valley. Cleared the dirt away from the plunger thing on the passenger side and let it run. No leaks from there.
Takeaways from this:
Loud popping noise-check brakes.
To test:
-Remove brake caliper and pads.
-prop caliper up under there out of the way hooked up.
-Go back and forth a few time and see if it happens again.
-The brakes will be soft, the piston on the caliper will extend all the way out and...
Bock to the gasket thing. I believe there is no gasket between the turbo and exhaust pipe? I just loosened it and moved it back to being aligned and tightened it down. It must have moved when I changed out my flex plate.
I looked in the valley and nothing stands out. Just the normal looking oily sludge in the middle.
I did notice that my exhaust gasket is gone between the flex pipe thing and the pipe to the exhaust.
