I think most all your advice is "spot on" and very useful. Speaking for my-self and probably many others, your experience and opinions are well appreciated. You should disregard those negative feedbacks and "keep posting". Don't stop just because someone is having a bad hair day.
Ditto: Mine was the same way when I got it. Plan on spending some time adjusting the latch rods or replacing parts. Caution with the adjustment bolt on the latch, it is a left hand thread. I learned that the hard way when I snapped it off.
Fuel injection lines are no longer made for the 6.2. The old ones are known to get brittle and start leaking with age or milage. I had three lines weeping at the injector pump and decided to replace all the rest while I had it apart. It took me 4 months to find all eight NOS lines.
I use the MX6707 base with my CB and agree with OPCOM. Do not try to modify the base. I ruined a good base trying it. I just used the stock MX6707 base with the matching antenna whip and manually tuned it to its lowest setting. Then I had to trim the matching antenna by 12"-14" to get a good...
I would leave it as its designed. They are good trucks and use it as you see fit. Run it for a while till you get to know its good or bad points than think about doing some mods. Make sure you do your PMs with the fluids and such and enjoy.

Don't worry about the mods till you get her home. See how drivable the truck is and fix as needed when needed. Some of these trucks are in excellent condition from the get go and you may find just minor repairs are needed. Just do your PMs as you don't always know when the fluids have been...

The vender I mentioned has injection lines for cylinders #s 1,2,6,8. You may be able to Google the other part #s and see what you come up with. If you only have one or two leaking you may find some used ones that are good.
