    1954 M221 - new purchase

Is that a round nose dump truck maybe? Between the M221 and maybe a M215, it doesn't matter because we rarely get to see events like this so I'm grateful for the share.......and all the detail pics like those short drive-shafts, how they fit the air-paks, 5th wheel attachment, air-lines, e-brake...

    1954 M221 - new purchase

That's the rarest of the rare. M221 w/w or M221 wow. They're still out there and it's the 70th anniversary of the very first G749's. Awesome. Thanks for sharing and if you find the number punched into the right frame behind the right wheel, that's gold for a database one day.

All Military Vehicles banned from road in Maryland

What's next? Over 1 million Canadians invade the U.S. each year. Should I ask them to call someone? What are the phone numbers? I'll look up the number for tourism in Maryland and see what they can do to make me feel welcome. We're finding that inexperienced people are making 'errors and...

Hmmm..do you like low flying aircraft?....then here ya go!

I joined our local Aviation Museum in the early 90's and one of the privileges was ridiculous close access to the F-117 when it came to Edmonton. I recall being nervous standing so close to it thinking how "I" had special access. Everyone had special access when it was put on public display...

    M35 Mess Truck

That's beautiful. I missed the other post so whoever finds the link first should add it here. My questions might already be answered over there so I wouldn't be doing this next bit...... but here goes. This idea is over the top because it's not just a photo of a truck/ unit that will be lost on...

    Nuclear 5 tons.

Some Northern content with info. The Shilo area of Manitoba was one location we find pics from BB KW, JW and others. There's a pic around somewhere with this early Regulus banger on the back of a truck. I'm still looking for the truck but here's some early, likely unseen history.

    The real cost of armor?

Does it need to be big and expensive or could we settle for something smaller?

    Duuane's M135 repower thread

Well look at that. It's an identical truck to the pic I posted, that's funny. Our 427 and 366 was tied to an automatic too. It was a tough transmission. We slid a 1200 gallon tank in the box and hauled heavy all the time. That combo in a 12,000 lb deuce would be a rocket ship. Did you turn on...

    Duuane's M135 repower thread

I was too busy to worry about the block and it became the core exchange. The block shop said it came out of a Corvette so it was a loss. Who has ever said " I wish I never got rid of that ____________".

    Duuane's M135 repower thread

That's hilarious and ironic at the same time. The picture shows my GMC on a trailer to Port Alberni in B.C. It had a 427 in it when we bought it back around 2003 and we eventually put a 366 in it to "save on fuel". The fella from Port Alberni put a Cummins in it so he could tour the hills...

    1962 IH 5 Ton M139

You're new here, welcome aboard. I guess if you have a bridge truck you wouldn't need a ship so welcome aboard might be better put.......Welcome Abridge! I'm a big fan of big trucks. Here's a little help for those who are working on getting pictures up on SS...

    G749 preservation

The jokes on me because in earlier posts you will find I spent some time this summer working on this old girl. Poured the magic fluid in the holes, pulled the covers, started turning the engine using hydraulics on the torus,......all that stuff we do when we see potential. I'm anticipating the...

    G749 preservation

The tags are a wonder of time. One rebuild tag says 1969 with no bore indicated. Does that mean the engine ran from 1954 to 1969 with little or no wear.........or was this truck parked on crates for Civil Defence preparations, like many G749's? Some more block and part numbers. The...

    G749 preservation

Are you thinking of pulling that old 6x6 out of the bush to see if you can get it running? Did you hear, ...... if you pour marvel oil, a mix of brake fluid and acetone, diesel fuel or other magic mix in the spark plug holes for a soak that 'she might loosen up'. This 1st engine came into...

    M-52 Recovery

    (y) You mean those ones right there up there? (y)👆 I'll dig through the manuals and see what else is there. Slip me an email through that unused private message system and we'll scan what we can. My good scanner and compressor girl is in the office so I'll sneak in tomorrow if the snow stays...

Calling on all Michigan Historic Military Vehicle Owners

Is there an action plan in the works since that veto error came out? I must take Governor Gretchen Whitmer on a jeep ride so she can see how fun it is. Has anyone reached out to her to explain what we do with Military Vehicles after public service? Her statement reads like she isn't aware of...

    Help with M211 series TMs

Looks like we built a Canadian version and it isn't any better. I did find a transport document for the M51a2 so if you want to take it flying, now we can. Here are a few more snaps.

    Help with M211 series TMs

I thought I'd find a fold out in the pile of books but I'm just finding bits and pieces. Is there a specific section of a diagram you're looking for in case I stumble on it?
