One of the easiest and cheapest things to help with zerk fittings is to install rubber caps after greasing to keep water and dirt out of the fittings. Similar to the ones used for brake bleeder screws.
So for perspective, The USMC "newer" models that are coming out have not yet been released by the other branches, so I would think there is a lot in the pipeline still to come even with the ones diverted to Ukraine. YMMV.

On the m939, the heater core is a great place for funk to accumulate if not flushed out regularly. First time, I flushed it, I was amazed how much "mud" came out.
