Here is a pic of the two back window/ frames. I'll send them both down because one has a decent window, the other has a decent frame. The channels are rusty but one is straight.
Heading into the bush up north to check the other trucks so will grab some more pics. These trucks require tear-down...
Plans??? We're not supposed to have plans are we? Dagnabbit! The local MVPA collectors saw the G749 farm as a good spot to plant trucks to see if they'd grow into moving, preserved creatures. So far we've got the shop van M207 preserved, the M211 next to the preservation barn, parts distributed...
Too bad we can't try out that transmission. Without knowing she shifts it's a yard ornament that may need a thousand hours and 7-10 grand to get rolling to an out of Province inspection. It's a tough inspection ...and a good inspection because those boys would find sweat on a brake-line you...
That's a sweet assembly. Wonder how many pilots flew over that F 4 6 and saw that deuce,,,,,I digress.
So the soft top to hard top upgrade needs a back window panel too?
Letsled brought back all the panels from the 'Plowshare' tri-cab project so I have 3 hard-tops and 2 sets of side/window...
I promised that we'd take the OP on a ride in 135.

The in-cab action on this next one starts around 4:25

One of the boys was saying that the single arm vibrates almost making the mirrors useless. Cool upgrade. It's too wet to work so maybe I get a chance to flip through some old photos and find a truck with the double bracket for us.
How was that pinion seal R&R for you? I need to do the rear...
You guys should chat up some shared transport costs and arrange a trip up to WY from SC. I could do a little negotiating too because I am doing a soft top project and need a few parts.
In this pic we see that the MM panel replaces the window panel sooooo......if I could get a passenger and...
Will do, I gotta get to the ranch and help Terrh move a Dodge as early as tomorrow. I'd say that your cost would be dropping the cash into Steel Soldiers to upgrade your account so we can call this a "Parts Wanted" 'classified' add then donate any spare cash to a solid charity in Louisiana to...
Friday night A&W,
Then it rained and only orange and green stayed behind.
Little black cloud chased most of the shiny metal boys back to the barn. I'm so glad I have a truck that loves the weather, whatever it is!
Catch up time....and ketchup time. Those are the Michelin man's XML 12.00 20's on ol' Gizmo. I can't say they are military but if they weren't, they should have been. He's looking for a new set or replace them with 11.00 20's if you come across any dollar exchange sales down there.
Let's get...
Last time someone bought me pizza I hauled a hardtop from Edmonton to Yuma. How's the pizza down there? Not sure about the M35 lid fitting but I've got some slightly used for trampoline hard tops standing around. Logistics is the challenge! Come up for a road trip before winter!
Horseshoes wedged just right really helps. Once you get that 211 rolling you'll see what its like to wheel the ol' G749 around. Just can't get enough of the stories of the folks that drove them in and after service. Met a guy on Friday that drove one for 9 years working for Maligne Lakes up by...
Edmonton weekly rod meet
On Friday nights a local A&W fills with between 200 and 700 motorheads and their better rides. Goose and I have used it as an excuse to go lube the seals and last Friday, Goat joined in. I usually try to get a bit of MV in every pic so it's a bit like "where's Waldo"...

I saw that and asked myself.....a WHAAAT? A Colombia, then I googled it......That's a Freightliner suspension. http://www.kijiji.ca/b-heavy-trucks/gta-greater-toronto-area/freightliner-columbia/k0c339l1700272
Sassy....Does that 9" air bag mean you'll be able to squat the back end down the full 9"?
Sorry I missed this 08, I went through both my ORD 7 SNL G749 'List of All Service Parts' and 'Organizational Maintenance Allowance' books and came up flat. We found a few hydraulic shops that will make up lines for us so we haven't had the need to look for part numbers before. That might be...
It took a lot of work but the Goat team managed to pull together a 3 truck, M135 display at the Edmonton airshow this weekend. With it being the first 'break in' trip, Goose was loaded with recovery gear, tools, fire-extinguishers and we had a chase truck with Goat's master-builder as...
We did it! Goat and Goose got up on Saturday morning and headed out for a 20 mile hike to the Edmonton airshow at the remote airport of Villenueve. Gizmo only needed to travel a few miles to get to the airport so we all hooked up at the staging area.
This was Goats first day on the road so we...
