    Deuce done!

Nothing says he even has to pull the engine, right? Thousands of OTR tractors get in-frame rebuilds every year.

    Super Singles Rollover Danger?

Or get a forklift and keep raising one side of the truck until it flips ;)

    Super Singles Rollover Danger?

I had the 14R20s on my 923A2 and it never felt unstable in sharp curves at speed. There are several issues with these big tires though. If one of the front tires blows, the wheel has a good ways to go, about 14", before it hits the pavement. That coupled with a lot of weight on the front...

    Body Filler

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Body Filler I have used the blue-green Bondo brand fiberglass resin filler and cloth with success over the years. I like it better that the regular red filler. It is moisture resistant and doesn't crack like the other stuff. My last big body project was my 1984 1009. I...

    Buddy wants a UNIMOG

Umm, good luck! $8000 will get you a nice 404 or a basket-case 406 at best. Near highway speeds can be accomplished with super-fast axles found in ambulance or firetruck models using 14.50 tires. The gears or axles can be installed in other 406 or 416 variants for the right price. I wouldn't...

M923A2 came home with me today!

Sorry, Bjorn. The guy that bought the truck wanted it. We'll have to find you another one. I'll ask Winslow when I go to get my 818 parts if he has any dead ones laying around.

New SS M818 made it home!!

I know, I feel so spoiled now ;) Defrost and everything. The only thing I'm missing is heated seats. Actually, since the 809-series has a 12v center-tap, I could buy one of the Rostra heated seat inserts and really ride in comfort :D http://www.rostra.com/seat-heater.htm

New SS M818 made it home!!

RE: M818 I fired up the 818 tonight just to see if it would start in the 30-something temps that have recently arrived. I still have the crap batteries in it so I had to throw a jumper on there from the Excursion. After I got a little juice flowing I turned on the glow for about 30 secs, hit...

Here's a couple of pics of the one I got from Buddy on the day John picked it up.

    Gamma Goat pics from Hammonds

Wow, there is still quite a few there! I probably pulled parts off of all of them when I was there last time. I think I got the last Goat in the place with a t-case. None of them had engines or transmissions. The wheels and tires are pretty scarce too. Buddy had to go here, there and yonder...

5 tons that are excess in Korea

Yeah, Rich, the filter canister is under the driver's side. Pretty easy to change. Now, if you could just find a place to buy the filters...

5 tons that are excess in Korea

Man, those are beautiful! Some of them still have the BII in crates strapped to the rear deck! They look like they are straight from rebuild with fresh CARC and radial tires. I wonder if they will get sold in a big lot like all of the 809's and 939's that Schott's ended up with? Thanks for...

M 52 series doing Rail duty

RE: M800 series doing Rail duty Looks to be a M39-series instead of a M809-series. Maybe a M52? Those are the old-style composites too. I do like the homemade rail wheels. Very crafty! I bet they have to lay the sand the tracks when they are pushing cars in the rain or snow.

Hmmm, brown interior so prolly tan mats eh? Well that won't work for ours. Does it have the zebrano wood trim? If it is in good shape I need a few pieces. Does the aux fan work? Mine is fried. Thanks.
