Good tip Nick. Also, if your truck has sat any time without a top on or has gone swimming up to the floorboards, check the contacts at the bottom of the steering column. When I got my M923A2 the button was gone and the driver's door was off, which allowed rain to go down inside the column...
If it is the solidified, dried-up grease that is keeping it together as Mike suggested, you could try taking it to an engine rebuild shop and have them hot-tank it for you. The combination of heat and solvent may do the trick.
Bjorn and Chris, I may do the Best Offer listing or regular auction on E-bay. I put it on Craig's list tonight. That's how I sold my 404 Unimog.
Thanks for the congrats, John!
Spoken like a dyed-in-the-wool Ford owner, FT :D :D
I currently have a Power Stroke F250 in the driveway, but have owned two 5.9 CTD Dodges and now the 8.3 CTA in my 923A2, so my loyalties swing both ways
Re: RE: M715 video rescueing two civvy trucks in the mud pit
Bahahaha  Hmmm, CUCV MP 1009 truck with street tires in snot-slick mud, who could that have been  Only thing better was the guy that planted the nose of the 404 Mog in that deep arse hole
RE: M35 Engine options
Wolfman, both of those fellas you talked to are a little wacky. The first thing you need to do is spend a couple of long nights reading posts in the deuce forum and the deuce modding forum. There have been Cummins and CAT swap write-ups posted. You will also find that...
Boy Jeff, you are really workin on the big trucks these days. Are you going to pull your trailer to Aberdeen with the 915 next year? I would love to see one in person. I may just have to head north to see you before then. A cement truck would be incredible on that chassis.
Thanks Kenny! A CUCV may not be out of the question or maybe a Doka Mog :)
Fancy, great story! Don't worry, SS will ride again. It'll just be a little older and less expensive ride, which has its perks too, like cheaper insurance, antique plates, cheaper parts, easier to find parts, etc... ;)
Thanks for the support guys. I hope it will go to a SS member too. Less than a handful of SS members know this, but the Mrs. and I are expecting SS Jr. Sept. 1st. There is much to be done before the little guy gets here. Hopefully I'll be able to hold a little cash back to get something else...
Hate to do it, but I am putting my 923A2 up for sale. I need some cash for various home improvement and business improvement projects. I'll put an advert in the classisfeds later.
