I had a great time again this year. I had an oil leak start on the way home that coated the under side of the truck. It wasn't bad and I didn't loose much oil, just enough of a drip to let the wind spray it everywhere. Anyway, here are the pics I took.
Man, I wish it was coming to somewhere on this side of the state as I would love to help out with vehicles. Brighton is just a bit too far to get back and forth too for that many days.
Packed most of my stuff tonight. I'll be ll ready to roll out early Sat. morning. Last chance for any specific decals or paint masks.
See everyone on Sat.
Yep, I'm bringing lots of standard stuff in both decals and paint masks. If you need something specific, let me know and I'll make sure I put it in the box of stuff to go. If you need items like registration #'s or bumper #s let me know what ya need.
Well I did finish up a new M35a2, it just in 1/35th scale! I built another of the AFV Club's 1/35 M35a2 models recently. I had to scratch build a few pieces as I wanted to build a hard-top truck with the gun ring opening. The kit come with a soft top so I had to make the new to from scratch...
Flat black it is, it's aready cut and packed with the stuff for the show. Just see me at my table or send Ted over to pick it up for you. I'll be there all day saturday with a decal table.
Anyone else? Last call is coming up quick!
Well, we are a week away and I have not really seen a Clare only thread. So I'll be bringing a bunch of decals with me again. If anyone needs anything custom, now is the time to let me know so that I can get them done to bring with me. I will also be parts shopping so if anyone coming has...
I recently finished off a AFV Club M38a1 model build. It went together nicely. I used a can of Averole 24087a to paint it. And marked it like one of the M38a1's that my father drove while with the 226th ASA in the 60's.
Also don't forget that there is the show and swap meet in Silver Lake on Sept. 13. This the 3rd year for the show and it keeps growing each year. http://www.steelsoldiers.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=23667
As far as Clare, if anyone has a set of M37 fuel can brackets they...
Remember, mine is a tipper. The air tanks were moved outboard to make room for the rear facing, pto driven hydralic pump and tank. I do not seem to get much thrown back at the cab, most all of it goes out the back. Heavy mud will sometime make the trip up and around the tire, but it is not...
When I did my deuce, I didn't feel the need to go as far as I had done on my M715 restoration. So I just blasted a few items and went at it with paint and primer. The bed was in rough shape so I found a replacement and had it stripped. All in all he charged me $700 to blast the bed, troop...
You also have to make sure to use radial tubes and not the bia style. I have Swamper radials on my stock M715 with split rings. What you didn't say is how wide the tire is. That is the important thing with a 6.5 wide rim. Anything exceesiveily wide will wear funny on the road.
