    Masking Tires for Paint

I was just going to post this subject after finishing painting my 10 new tire and wheels that I got for my deuce. Luckily mine are not on the truck yet which helped make it a little easier. I used the pam spray and it worked great. I made a quick cardboard cut out of the rim and layed it over...

New jacket for the Ole M37

Great, I've been waiting to see you truck done up with the seabee markings I did for you. It should turn out great and really stand out as you just don't see too many Navy marked vehicles. As for the seabee logos, they are excact replicas of the image that Kevin posted in the seabee thread...

    Registration #'s

Unfortunately the reg #'s were not put on the data plate like on the deuces that went through rebuilds. If you could not find it on the hood when sanding, than try the tailgate. Sand slowly through the layers of paint and hopefully you'll find it. Once those numbers are lost, there is no real...

    Cargo Canvas

I just bought a set from acetomatoco, but I think I cleaned him out of what he had in them. By the way thanks ACE the straps look great and are excellent shape compared to the dry rotten set I have on the truck now.

    Cargo Canvas

The straps should bolt to the bows and then through the buckles on the canvas cover. This is what hold it on to the truck. I do know though that at speed, it will lift up the bows and make them rattle. But it does that only at greater speeds, and not at a slow parade pace.

Looking good! I also have both my 715 and the deuce cleaned up and parade ready. Great you guys just had to mention SNOW! Now I'm going to have to go back out and put the tops back on the trucks because you jinxed it.

Mack NO That's a real ARMY truck!!

The last time I was at Sam Winer in Akron OH. they had a few sitting in the yard. Got to the photo gallery and look in the folder marked Sam Winer's. In the pic of the 715 titled "best one on the lot" you can see the front of one right behind the 715.

    Memorial Day Parade

I've been running in the local parade here for several years now. We leave from the county court house and make a 2 mile march up through town to the cemetery to the Veretans memorial for a service. I've been using the M715 as the lead vehicle behind the color gaurd in which we drop the troop...

    Progress on -725 this weekend

Keep pushing on and you can make it! Looking good. If you are thinking about some markings before you go to Aberdeen, let me know and I can get them cut and right out to you so that you have them in time. It only takes a day to cut them out and two days shipping from UPS to get to you from here.

First time painting - what do I need to know?

Re-coat 1 to 3 hours or wait until after 16 hrs. Usually by the time I've painted every thing in a set, and have gone back to reload the paint gun, It's been long enough to start back at the first item again.

    Power difference after FDC bypass

Well I drove 100 miles yesterday, all hiway and the truck ran great. I was able to hold a comfortable 55 mph @ 2400 rpm everywhere, even up the bigger hills I was on, and was able to push it to 60 mph @ 2650 rpm anytime I wanted. On straight diesel I burned just under a 1/4 tank to cover the...

    Marine Corps Markings

Re: RE: Marine Corps Markings Thanks Maddog, Those are from my decal site, http://www.i2k.com/~schwarzd/ I also do Marine markings for deuces as posted on my site, but I don't have any good pics of them so on the Marine M35 page is shows a truck with white Army markings to give an idea of...

    Don't try this!

You can only imagine that the driver is now a few inches shorter after something like that! I know when I hit a bump in the road it feels like I'm getting shorter while behind the wheel of a deuce.

First time painting - what do I need to know?

When painting with 24087 make sure that you paint at least three good coats of paint over the red oxide primer or the red will show through the paint making it more brown than green. I sprayed 4 coats on my trucks and they came out nice and dark green. I followed the painting recomendations on...

    Power difference after FDC bypass

Re: performance differences on gas Mine runs great with the bypass and straight diesel. About the same it would be for turning up the IP pump.

    Goat up date

Looks great! I'm glad you liked the decals, let me know if you need anything else. You probably got quite the looks blasting down the hiway in the old goat.

    Goat up date

4 months, way to get it done! Must not have wasted too much time while working on it. I did my 715 in 4 month. I just love the look on peoples faces when they ask you how many years had you been working on it and you drop the 4 month bomb. For all you guys who spend years doing a resto job...
