...and just like that it's here. All in all about 21 days from the time I clicked the button on the GL website to my door.

OK, the email came yesterday (11 April) but apparently the paperwork didn't actually get into the mail until today: This morning, 13 April: Same day, just checked again:

The WSP site is somewhat vague on the subject: Out of state? Nothing else fits.

M1102 from Barstow to Sacramento. Logistic help!

Looks good. One thing you might have missed is the safety chains. Using that pintle setup puts the trailer farther behind the tow vehicle than normal due to the angled support and the extra height. Stop by Home Depot or Lowes and pick up two or four Quick Links. Or, you could do what I did...

Chronicle of a tan M1101 trailer purchase from GovLiquidation.com

I got an email today that the titling documents went in the mail today, with a USPS tracking number. I can't complain, that's pretty fast service (and it's my first SF97). I wonder if I can get a plate with just whatever they're sending or if I need the WSP to inspect the thing first.

UPDATE on mine: I sent in the SF97 application right after I brought the trailer home, so March 24th or 25th, and charged my account on April 3rd. We'll see how long it takes.

That was going to be my next question. Can I put a regular tire on the split rims? Can I buy a used set of H1, H2, or H3 rims that would work? If I could put some 30" tires on the trailer it might sit much closer to the Jeep's height

M1102 from Barstow to Sacramento. Logistic help!

Here in WA it cost me $30 for a three day pass to pick up the trailer. I only needed one day but they only sell three day, so I took the trailer out with me the next day while I did some errands. The trailer has run-flat tires, so keep that in mind. I didn't stress over getting a...

M1102 from Barstow to Sacramento. Logistic help!

The link I provided is where the pictures are. topohiker news and scroll down. The way the other guy did it was to stand them both on end and attach them, then roll one onto its wheels. So it would look like one upside down trailer on top of another.

M1102 from Barstow to Sacramento. Logistic help!

nanlin, there are pictures and details in my blog: topohiker news The pictures are all thumb-nailed so click on them to see the larger versions. If you have a stout truck, it may be possible to stand them both on end and lash them together and tow them both home at once. I saw some pictures...

Chronicle of a tan M1101 trailer purchase from GovLiquidation.com

I went to Napa today and got 12V bulbs, installed, and everything works as it should. Small bulb 623 = 631 (12V) @ $5.49 Large bulb 1683 = 1156 (12V) @ $3.99 I also used the shop vac to suck all the dirt and debris out of the drain holes and the tie-down pockets. It looks a lot better now...

Chronicle of a tan M1101 trailer purchase from GovLiquidation.com

Thanks to Eric’s super fast shipping, I received my rubber shell connectors so it was off to Home Depot for the rest of the stuff I needed. I picked up four colors of 16g wire, a 7 blade connector, and some wire loom. All the connectors are crimped and soldered, the wires are tucked...

Chronicle of a tan M1101 trailer purchase from GovLiquidation.com

I am going a different route for a couple of reasons. The most minor was that I wanted to keep the original harness intact. Second, the 12 wire cable is huge and heavy, and I don't really want to use it. I worry it might pull itself out of the 7-pin socket on my jeep by its own weight. I...

Chronicle of a tan M1101 trailer purchase from GovLiquidation.com

I came home after work and got to work on getting the old wire harness off (only to the first junction point). It only took me about an hour. The most difficult thing was getting the connectors apart. Then I had to drill out the rivets holding the clamps. The last...

Chronicle of a tan M1101 trailer purchase from GovLiquidation.com

I found the safety chains to be a bit too short, probably because of the huge riser plate I need to run. That shouldn't be a problem for you though. I was pretty nervous that it wouldn't be turn-key and I'd have to rent a flat bed truck to get it home- but it was ready for the road; I expect...

Chronicle of a tan M1101 trailer purchase from GovLiquidation.com

I wish this forum would allow me to [img] pictures up, but I took a few more of the trailer that will be tiny. The tail lights are traditional filament bulbs with LEDs for the black-out portion (?). The side markers are LED. The only damage to mine is two minor scuffs and one of the parking...

Chronicle of a tan M1101 trailer purchase from GovLiquidation.com

It took a while for my EUC to clear, but I got the word Monday that the trailer was clear to pick up. It would happen that the base (where I work) was having a large scale security drill today and we were warned to telework from home (or Starbucks) and stay well clear. I decided today would be...

Chronicle of a tan M1101 trailer purchase from GovLiquidation.com

That was my biggest concern. The M1101/2 trailers are pretty wide as it is. I'm only going to have 4" on each side to fit through the garage door opening, so wider will not be an option. My Jeep has AEV Pintler wheels on it, four of them plus the spare, with 265/65-17 BFG AT TA with an E...

Chronicle of a tan M1101 trailer purchase from GovLiquidation.com

I have a question on wheel options. Has anyone run a set of wheel adapters to convert the eight-lug to something more standard? I would like to run the same wheels and tires I use on my jeep, so my spare would work for the trailer.
