It came filled with old school plain ole green stuff. I would say any good name brand green stuff not the red/orange/purple, copper or extended drain interval stuff.( I would not mix if topping off with extended) .

Check out tractor supply. They sell ones with a built in bottle jack. They are awesome and adjustable height arm with pin. Super nice feature is that they also have a safety latch in case of failure. Makes regular jack stands and bottle jacks obsolete imho...

Lots of time it is the carc overspray paint that is cracking on wires, not the wires. Can't really tell if those are oversprayed?

I suspect you will find the water pump shaft with substantial slop on the impeller shaft when it is pulled. That imbalance probably cooked your fan clutch or was enough to cause the fan to fail or the shaft of the pump cracked and launched a missile. I am afraid all the problems will track back...
