M101 cover rubber rope mod help

You need some 1/2" or shock cord. Been doing this for years. I also use the shock cord to keep the top tight so it won't collect water. I first tried manilla rope and it worked well but would sag in damp weather. Below is an older pic of this. The shock cord was a great remedy for that. This...

M101A2/3 trailer adjustable lunette ring question

That makes sense. Looks like I made the mod ten years ago according to the picture. I did notice the slightly different mount. These units have to be very rare. As you can see it worked well with my Mazda B2200 to pull the trailer level. Mark

M101A2/3 trailer adjustable lunette ring question

About seven plus years ago I modified my lunette ring on my M101A2 trailer. I needed it to be adjustable so I got all the parts necessary and cut off the old ring. It's been a great mod then yesterday on flebay I find this tan unit amd it's exactly the same setup I made. I had no clue the...

    ARGH! FlexPlate Advice Please...

Did you properly shim the starter when you installed the transmission? Are the two bolts on the starter in place along with the rear mount? When you pull the tranny and pull the starter I would inspect it and bench test it. Misalignment is the main cause of flywheel teeth issues. Mark

    Transmission ATF drain plug location

You could also buy a deeper pan with cooling fins and a drain plug. This will also add two more quarts of tranny fuild to the mix. Mark

    Transmission ATF drain plug location

Put a drain pan under there and loosen one of the transmission fluid lines a bit and you can get out what you need to from there. A vampire leak will cause you to lose fluid as it goes places you don't want it to go. My vampire leak turned my air filter into an oil bath system. Mark

My wife is going to kill me... :D

Well if his wife has a brother that would help... I'm just saying. LoL I have to wonder if the OP realizes that most of us are on her side in the hopes all his military gear would sell for cheap.

M1123A2 engine noise while traveling on highway.

After listening to the video it sounds like you are only in 2nd gear and the fan should stay on like 2 min. Try shifting the gears manually and see if you are shifting properly. Mark

    Humvee glow plugs

If the plugs burn out over time I believe you have a much better chance pulling them without issue then if the box fails and cooks them. You would be insane to use anything but the mil spec plugs. Mark

    Arrival of 2nd HMMWV M1151A1

P People are getting $8500+ for a good condition slant back with roof these days. Big money. Now a roof with the full turret setup by itself is worth about the same. Mark
