been driving the truck quite a bit lately, basically as much as possible. i've been having some fuel system problems - i got a chit-ton of algae. so i've shocked the tank w/ enzymes and have been driving and changing filters a buch to run that crap out. filters were so clogged that the...
actually, no he doesn't. in fact, he's totally wrong. the speed rating is a product of rated load at specified max ambient temperature.
since i'm away from my truck right now, can someone tell me the load rating of the 16.00's...? it's something like 20-some-thousand pounds, right? last i...
i thought about going the A3 route w/ regard to headlights. but $65 for a set of 'hot-rod headlights' from Ebay made up my mind for me compared to A3 bucket costs.
also, when tucking the ATA IC behind the grill, i still had room for a pair of thin Hella's as aux lights to fill the grill...
i can have them Saturday (when i'm back in town) - my take-out MF is still on a pallet in the shop...
[shame-less plug] anyone need a good take-out MF nearby????? [/shame-less plug]
i wouldn't do it. based on Flat's Google'ing and the measurements i took when preping for my swap, i think you can, but it will be shoe-horned in just as tight as the MF is. you won't be able to cool it w/ the stock radiator if in the power-pedal much. the radiator will take the room currenly...
correct, the '4500 does not have a neutral safety switch. i missed what clutch pedal assy you are using, but typically the safety switch is a micro switch on the clutch pedal. you should be able to wire it up in the same manner as the safety switch on an auto column shifter, depending on...
i think it can be done - essentially a body lift to gain the, what, 3"? then swap in A2 hood and side panels. they're likely be a handful of slight hiccups like the steering column, but that can all be adjusted/modded.
sounds like a cool project!
yes. you could try a single link from the existing lower bracket, but i think you would be much better off moving the axle bracket to below the housing some.
put the link into tension/compression versus the moment arm as it is now; keep what you have, but run a link from the lower bracket to the cross member bracket. this will change your rear to mimic a 3-link (essentially 4) setup. the effectiveness depends on the amount of seperation between the...
mine are fabricated plate blocks from Red Barn Customs - they are bracketed to encapsulate the axle housing and are welded on.
i'm not sue if they are tapered. that's actually something that i need to look at in the near future; i've got a vibration at 2500+ driveshaft speed that i'm...
thanks. the visor was built by Jim (aka cavemantrucks on here) - he did the bob work, lift, and body/paint... well, he built the truck, i just did the repower.
NV4500 (thread title). it made sense to use it: it's strong(er), reliable, shifts 1000 times better, and i already had one.
nah...
no bind. zero axle wrap.
the thicker 'handles' are on the M109 vans, which is what my truck was originally. they are supposedly intended as tie-downs, although the thinner 'handles' on the M35 have me wondering if they are of any real use - isn't much meat to those...
