Hmm...looking at my cluster mount is this supposed to be a half circle like this. Almost looks like it has been broken off?
BTW thanks for the help guys.
Yea I did that and could not seem to get it lined up...it would always be off either near P or near the 1 and 2.
Yeap that is the info I was looking for. When I took it apart some one had already disconnected it.
Does the cable that connects to the column go over a pulley or some thing or does it just run down the column.
The reason I ask is because I clip it back on to the area the military marked and it does not seem to line up at all.
BTW I found a company that makes just the orange indicator.

I want to repaint my M1009 with out spending a fortune or killing my self....
I was planning on leaving the old CARC on and just degrease and sanding it and then paint over it with a CARC substitute such as the Rapco 383 paints.
Would this work ok?
Does an air gun work better then using the...
I was looking to order a new set of glass run seals for my M1009.
The part catalogs show that it is a one piece setup, but my truck seems to use a 2 piece setup.
Should I just order the 1 piece setup for the 81-91 BLAZER listed by LMC?
I found a post from the past on here some one also...
Well my shift indicator was missing the actual indicator part...not sure how it got broken off but it was like that when I bought my M1009.
When I rebuilt the dash yesterday I took it off and used a small dremel to cut a notch and glued in a colored paper clip piece to make a new indicator...
I figured out a really easy way to do it just now.
If you use a pair of pliers or a screw driver and press on just one side of the clip at angle they pop out really easy.
I have my gauge cluster taken apart on my kitchen table for cleaning.
The metal clips that hold the fuel gauge are the only thing left to remove to get the gauge circuit film off for cleaning.
How do you remove these clips?
I dont want to break them.
Well I test installed it today.
Yes I know the speakers are installed weird in the brackets...I had to lower them to get them to fit under the console and I have not bolted them down yet.
Here is a video of it running at about 2/3 volume.
I don't care if you hate the music...your opinions on...
I was going to install the brackets in the stock locations. And then use washers as spacers between the bracket and the speaker it self to lower it further down. If that doesn't work I am told you can actually install the brackets from under the metal dash also.
Yea I noticed that to with my speakers ordered from crutchfield also...
I have not installed them yet, but was planning on buying a pack of washers and use them as spacers to make the speakers bolt down lower.
Do any of you have a picture of what this rear plastic part looks like?
I need to see if mine are missing or not before ordering.
Also LMC list two splash shield kits. One if the front has quad shocks, and another if it does not.
Which one should I order?
