I just noticed my driver side front wheel well has a rubber skirt covering the inner portion. The skirt even has the letters KL cut into it.
I noticed all the other wheel wells dont have this guard but do have what appears to be mounting locations.
Where these issued with rubber mud guards or...
Well I got the bed liner down on M1009 today. What a relief this is.
The floor of my M1009 has been a major goal for the past month and half.
I spent probably 6 hours on the prep work cleaning the floor and sanding sections of it down.
I followed the herculiner directions and bought 2...

Ok I spent the last 3 days trying to get the floor finished on my M1009.
I cut out the remaining bad spots in the floor and welded in some new metal.
Once I had it welded in and used a wire wheel to remove the temporary primer over all areas that had rust at one point.
I also cleaned up some...
This coming weekend I plan to put down the 2 gallons of Herculiner I bought on the floor of M1009.
I finished cutting out the bad spots on my floor and welded new metal in. I then primed the metal with Rustoeleum Automotive primer.
Then I used seam sealer over the weld beads. Needless to say...

The first letter I noticed was an S.
Then a D and a U
As I kept taking off layers and layers of paint more outlines of...
The template is unique to my vehicle. If you do a search on my user name I have a thread on making your own.
Plan on it being all day. The prep work is the hardest part imho.
Yeap that is exactly what i am going to do.
What type of seam sealer (or whatever it is) did they use at the factory? Its the caulk looking stuff that is around all the edges on the interior of my M1009.
The part that took the longest was getting each patch panel setup to fit just right.
Once I had them screwed in I went to work welding them in. The area along the kick panel at the rear was a big pain in the butt.
Got the panels welded in, they might not look pretty but I don’t care because I...
Then I welded it in. My welding is skills are not to great with sheet metal so I did it the slow way by using a bunch of tac welds and a few small beads. It might not look like much but it does the job and I get good penetration.
I also noticed the floor was cracked from the seat frame so I...
Ok yet another update on my M1009…still working with the floor trying to patch up all the rotted areas. Hopefully one more weekend of this floor stuff and it will be ready for me to sand blast.
I started with the really bad area near the driver side door. I cut it out and used left over steel...
