Thanks - I noticed the one under the engine while doing the post, I did get it in there but because the length of the post, it could easily overlooked. Great idea on the lifting rings. I read a lot of posts here before I became a member and one user used a bead of silicone between the rings and...
I purchased a MEP 802 on an eBay auction in January of this year. I was looking at GL and eBay for several months. Some info on GL did not make me feel real confident for a one time purchase. Also seemed like it could be a big hassle. This one came up on eBay, bid on it and won. Paid 1625 for...
I agree, each generator will have its own characteristics when running and none of the gauges are going to stay exactly at the prescribed settings. You call it drift, I agree. But they can also be good for troubleshooting a problem or detecting an impending problem. I recently became an owner...
No, remember this meter is measuring the generator output in current and measured in amps. A reistive load of 26 amps would be 6240 watts of power consumed, 26 amps of load on the generator and the meter will read 100%. Now, if you had a load of 5000 watts at a power factor of 0.8 the generator...
I have a MEP 802, so I will be using the MEP 802 specifications for the meter calibrations.
I have mine set up for single phase 240 V.
That would be 26 At 240 V or 52 A at 120 V
This process will work on most other generators. Just use the specifications for your generator.
I will start...
This is a generator forum. If you had more info - make and model of engine - make and model of inj pump. Maybe someone here then could offer some assistance. Before removal of any inj pump, it should be timed.
I'm with you. When that fiber disc goes, it looks and feels like coffee grounds under that cover with the 3 bolts on it. Under that cover the fuel has already been through the filters. If that is what it is, I would take it to a pro. Hope you timed the pump before removal.
The biggest things in soldering are 1. Make sure both pieces to solder are absolutely clean with no oil or grease film what so ever. Use fine sandpaper or fine steel wool. Use a spray type degreaser for oil or grease. 2. Always use a flux. Electronic flux would be the best, I have used paste...
Looks like your gauge is very close. Remember the generator load meter indicates current that the generator produces which is rated at 26 amps. Any time that meter reads 100% the generator will be outputting 26 amps. At 6.24kw resistive load, the meter should read 100% and the generator will be...
Actually at a federal level B5 does not have to be labeled at the pump, B6 and above does have to be labeled. States could have different labeling requirements for B5. Or stations could label pumps as B5 even though they don't have to. reference...
I see that this meter reads watts consumed, this can be very different than amps produced by the generator. You can actually overload the generator using the watt meter as a guide. The digital volt meter and amp meter combination would be much more accurate and make sure you won't overload the...
I have a MEP 802 generator and have five drill presses and five Bench grinders hooked up to it. All drill presses are identical and when checked with a kill a Watt meter they each draw 350 W of power. All the bench grinders are identical and when checked with a kill a Watt meter to each draw...
One more thing to keep in mind whether it is a fast blow or a slow blow fuse, it can make a big difference. A fast blow fuse will blow with any overload, a slow blow fuse will allow for a brief overload.
