Installed the VHF in the Deuce on Friday.
Yesterday I took it on a little off road adventure.
Of course the Deuce was voted the coolest truck in the group :naner:
That's exactly what I did. Mixed 3/4 of the mixed diesel/gas with 1/4 wate oil in jerry cans and transfered into truck that way.
I mainly added the oil since I didn't know what the exact ratio the diesel/gas mixture was.
Scored about 40 gallons of free fuel. I drove the Deuce over to my friends garage last week and we started talking about the multi fuel engine. He asked if the fuel can be mixed, then told me he has a 55 gallon drum filled with a mix of diesel and gas (more diesel than gas) drained from fuel...
I installed a new sending unit for the fuel gauge and completed the install of my UHF radio.
I have a few more items to install on the 12v side and then I'll clean up the wiring a bit and secure it

I though about this myself but can't justify the cost. Maybe if I end up doing more highway driving in the future it might be worth it.
True, but then you can't answer calls through the headsets.
How is your volume when hooked up that way? Mine is very low. I was thinking of adding a small amp between the phone and the VIC box. Not sure if it would work or if it would damage anything.
Dis some more on the 12v system today. Installed a master switch for the 12v system. I will eventually change it out to a military switch. Hooked up power to the tank drain heaters, installed a power outlet/USB, and installed interior lights.
Erik's Military and industrial surplus has various Dash Indicator Lenses ranging from the standard red to blue, amber, clear and green. Has anyone tried just changing out their lens? I would assume the clear lens would give a good result.
Yesterday I started to install the 12v system in the Deuce. 24v - 12v converter, fuse panel, a switch to activate the electric brake control, and a mount for one of my radios (there will be 2, 1 VHF and 1 UHF). I want to put in a toggle switch to turn the system off when not needed, install some...
I was doing some maintenance on my deuce today and I noticed that on the inside of the front drivers side wheel is wet and the boot has a tear, about 1", near the top. I guess I'll be doing boots and axle seals soon. Thanks for these posts and the info. Definitely going to refer back to this...
Finally installed the spin on primary fuel filter I got from Jatonka, aired up the tires and did some minor maintenance today before it started to rain. As my budget permits i'll be ordering the spin on secondary fuel filters and oil filters as well.
Fixed my cab top today. When I took it to work for the Veteran's Cruise over July 4th weekend the stitching came out over the windshield. Made for a nice cool breeze coming in driving down I-80, LOL. Well, I glued the seam with Pliobond 35 and then put Gorilla Tape along the length of the...
I'm probably low post too but definitely want one for a VIC-1/VIC-4 system.
I'm also looking to interface 2 Motorola CDM 1550's with the VIC-1/VIC-4 system if you have any insight on that.
