1st thing I'd check is whether the RE taxes are being paid on the property. It's public record and available at the tax collector's office. The tax bill will have an address where it's being sent to and if the address is different from the property, it's a good sign that someone else is now...
Just watched the video, what a great set of trails, it looked a lot more fun that Spring 2014. Loved the rock crawl, did it damage anyone's truck? Thanks for posting the video, makes me inspired to try to make the next one.
That sux. Your best bet will be GL, but it's all luck if you can find one and it's close. There is also http://car-part.com/ which is a database of salvage yards. They usually only handle civvy parts, and I don't know enough about Detroit Diesels to know if they are in any other small trucks.
Umm, a 50 amp breaker will trip at 50 amps, so what does it mean it can "handle a lot more than 50 amps"? If you are drawing say, 60 amps, a 50 amp breaker will trip to protect the wire from overheating and starting an electrical fire. Whether the breaker can "handle" 1,000 amps or 100 dancing...
Looks like great fun. Sad I missed it, but my 5 ton wasn't building air pressure on Friday after sitting all winter and I'm too incompetent to fix myself. Unfortunately, had to miss the fun. It looks like the weather was much better than Spring 2014!
I started my 923a2 for the first time in around 4 months. It's been sitting outside in Pennsylvania all winter. It fired up in 50 degree weather immediately, which was a pleasant surprise. But to my dismay, it was not building pressure, both primary and secondary tanks were close to zero.
I...
In the 5 year lifespan of this thread, one could have become a doctor -- even medical school doesn't take this long! I'm not criticizing, but it sure is a long time to make something. I think I might show this thread to my wife, so she knows it's normal to wait a few years for things to get...
I thought I saw an interlock on the bottom of the panel, so wouldn't that mean that the only way the generator breaker can engage (and therefore backfeed panel) is if the main panel breaker is disengaged? If main panel breaker is disengaged, the link between the utility and house is severed and...
I guess you are a glutton for punishment. Driving 14 hours with 4 kids is akin to walking through at least 5 of Dante's circle of ****. Driving in the 5 ton will be a piece of cake, assuming of course none of the junior navigators ride in the cabin.

I will try to make it. Not committing yet, but hopefully can try to free up my schedule. If I come, will be there in my m923a2, most likely with my son. We went up in last spring and had a great time, rain and ****ty weather notwithstanding. Hopefully weather will cooperate.
Dave,
Can you provide some idea of typical recommended services you do and costs for 5 tons (M923a2). Maybe basic services like oil/filter change, annual maintenance, etc. Not sure if these are fixed fee services or based on time, if the latter, what is the hourly rate?
Where would the frame serial # be located exactly? I don't have a photo of it obviously, but could ask. Per # on the hood, it did start out as M13, would the frame serial # be identical to the # on the hood?
Oh and why would an M13 to M16 conversion be more "valuable" or historically...
Are you studying to be a watchmaker?? I think there's a place in PA, forgot the name... I actually collect watches, and you should have no trouble getting a job (assuming that's the field you are going into). It's impossible to find anyone good these days (and the factory overhauls are getting...
