Used the same thing on two 69 Cutlass Convertible between the top bow and windshield frame, stopped leaks for years,, only exposed to UV about 40% of the time. Worked great for 6 years , still on the cars after I sold them as far as I know.
Gear splitter like Eric has, should nudge you up to 60+,. You can find those in the boneyards, may or may not inhibit your off roading from what I've heard(Drive line angle). The 395s are good for few more mph once you get rolling.

If you could pull a trailer everyone around here flat tows their deuces with another deuce. Thats 14000lbs. Buy a deuce, stack up the bed, use it until you don't need a heavy truck/hauler and sell it. If you can make yourself part with it.
