Anyone know where to get the O-Ring Brass Retainers that go @ the ends of the Oil Cooling Element?
Are the Oil Cooler O-Ring Brass Retainers off an M-809 series the same as an M-939 series?
Would you still have to change the rod and main bearings even if it just occured and you caught coolant in the oil early on? Does that coating on the bearings deteriorate with any amount of coolant even with minimal use or does this occur over a period of time?
Pleae let me know what you find.
Friend of mine picked up my 1983 Am Gen M-931 truck tractor from Ft. Bliss, TX couple of weeks ago. When I drained the oil, about 2-3 gallons of coolant also came out.

Thinking that the o-rings in my oil cooler may need replacing, I am getting coolant in the oil. Where did you get the o-rings? Any pics of o-ring replacement on the oil cooler?

Truck began to emit smoke, vapor and oil from the crankcase breather tube as soon as it was driven from where it was parked at the auction site. As soon as this was seen, a friend was called to tow the truck home.

Got word back yesterday from diesel mechanic shop on why there was oil and smoke coming from crankcase breather tube and coolant in the oil!!???
Looks like the cylinder liners/sleeves are bad. Mechanic stated that it may have been caused by someone running straight water through...
Well- i drained the coolant and a total of about 3 gallons came out. Ugh!!!! I knew what to expect next when i drained the motor oil!!!! Sure enough!!!! A gush of coolant made its way out first then oil.
Well its off to the shop tomorrow to slowly start seeing what was damaged:(!!!!
