Sorry, but I do not have any photos of his jeep. But from my meager description and the suggested model being M38A1 I was able to look on line for photos and it appears to be what he has. I suppose I should have posted that earlier. I think the ID has been made, and thanks to all. I have just...

    possible miltary jeep??

MAn, I am confused! From the pics I could find on line, that is what he has, an M38A1. However, that looks like a much later model jeep? No flat fenders, etc. I had no idea that they made that style in 1953?? I have a civilian 1953 CJ3A that is very line a military 1953 jeep I see every year...

Got a friend that just acquired a jeep that may be a military jeep from what little knowledge I have. At least he'd sure like to know what it is, model, year etc. I guess he didn't get a title as he thinks it is a 52 or so, but it is newer that that, I can tell that much. It is NOT flat...

broke off air tank petcock in M135.......

My Son, in his zeal to do good while draining moisture thought it best to remove the petcock and get rid of every last drop of water. Well we know what happened, broke off the petcock. It is in a hard place to get at but we tried "easy outs" with no luck, the brass left in the threaded hole...

More trouble than I can handle...

OK friends, if your still out there? I switched back to the 12 volt solenoid. Now it clicks every time I hit the starter button, 4 to 6 times, then it kicks right in and starts. But when I shut it down it does it all over again. I am going to try and check the batteries. Even though the...

More trouble than I can handle...

I did some searching last nite and found also that this is a 12 V starter. I am going to try and check the voltage today. This solenoid has two small posts on it. One seems to do nothing there is only on small wire and the big wire straight from the battery(s). That's how it was on the donor...

It's just one thing after another with this M135. The starter went out the day before Memorial Day. The only reason my Dad and I restored this truck was to haul Vets in parades, etc. Now I got a truck full of Viet Vets lined up for the 4th of July and still no starter fixed. I just took it...
