Increasing the fording capabilites of the Deuce AND reducing the fording PMCS

Gringletaube beat me to the links. You can pressurize with 2 psi (give or take... 6 feet of water= 1.5 psi) and keep the water out of anything sealed well enough to hold that pressure. It is not perfect. But, I suspect with regular fluid/bearing inspections... military level, as in every...

    preventable rear suspension failure

I'm not looking forward to cribbing up the whole back of the truck to get the axles to hang free... Time to buy some more big jack stands, I suppose.

    preventable rear suspension failure

I'm going to bump this because it hasn't been talked about much as a topic, and because I just happened to notice my front tandem walking in and out to a degree I'm not comfortable with, and some of what looks like wear spots on the inside of the inside duals. Anyone have a comprehensive test...

    steel soldier rally videos

True... alright guys... we can do it here to save space, but I think we should make 2 new threads. #1 How-to videos... MV related #2 Awesome MV video #3 Wall of shame #4 Vendor? 3-4 little threads... no increase in Moderator workload over any other 4 threads. Just sticky them for easy access...

    I am mad big time!!!

All but 3 of the M105s are gone... the ones that are left require EUCs.

    What do you build?

You are an artist. That control arm structure is gorgeous! How much do they weigh? Any pictures of these amazing beasts with their clothes on?

    steel soldier rally videos

I search almost daily for the terms "M35A2" and "Deuce and a half".... One clearinghouse sticky might be better than an actual YouTube account page. Two lists... "how-to" vids, and "look at the big truck, aren't I cool" vids... Maybe add a "wall of shame" for the prepper types who have no idea...

    What do you build?

That would ruin the fun! I say we get pictures once we figure out what they are for certain. Rear engine, 3 identical units, a very nice pre-fabricated, red painted, custom rack for the control arms implies they will not be the only ones produced. Massive structures implies racingwith a slim...

    What do you build?

Baja-style buggy frame and control arm. That's not exactly "fabrication" ... more beautiful small scale production. Which company?

    Heath's M35A2... the beginning

As was said by others, Uncle Sam didn't do the best paint work. This truck was a private purchase but unchanged from when it left GL. I have counted at least 5 distinct paint jobs. Going back in time desert tan (Modern), pinkish-desert tan(Gulf War I?), at least two different 3 color jobs... one...

British Army mastiff (copy of our Cougar MRAP) defeated by Taliban in Afghanistan

Ceramic layers combined with high mass layers. It disperses the molten jet of copper/etc on impact as well as resisting the actual force of the impact. It's not a secret, just difficult to get right.

    Bell 47 Helicopter - Australia

Sounds like an excellent opportunity Malaponte! If this is an operational unit, then the possibility there are logbooks is significantly increased. And if you didn't before, you now know how valuable those can be to the aircraft. Even if you don't want to fly her, you may be able to preserve...

    Heath's M35A2... the beginning

That's about what I'm thinking as well. The paint stripping tests are done... Pressure washer first.. then needle scaler... then wet sandblaster. Polycarbide discs for the big flats the needle scaler fails at cutting. I think that is the most cost effective method to get the job done without...

    Beautiful job.

    1976 Resto and Modernization

Bob is right. Honestly, you will have a stronger truck if you don't buy that manifold. A 2bbl has high intake velocity. It gives much better power where you need it lower in the RPM range. The 4bbl sounds good, but only improves power above 5000 rpm (give or take) and in some cases actually...

    Bell 47 Helicopter - Australia

Without logbooks, couldn't he still register it "Experimental" or some other SAC? If it's just a toy anyway...

    1976 Resto and Modernization

I think you can still get a cheap aftermarket dipstick/tube in chrome. Just do an oil change at the same time and mark the new stick with a valid "Full" line yourself. There is at least 15% ethanol in that gas you just purchased... it should be enough to soak up any water that was in the tank...

    1976 Resto and Modernization

No 4bbl will fit that intake without a serious adapter. Start looking for a 4bbl intake and be done with it. Make certain you DO NOT use one of those cheap Edlebrock triangular foam air filters. Gas fumes like to get into the foam and then light on fire with the odd backfire. Check timing and...

    Heath's M35A2... the beginning

That's how bowed the front of the bed is. Not pretty, but then again, nothing that really bothers me either. I'm thinking a couple of holes with large eye-bolts and run a strap back to a good sized tree out the back of the bed. See if that can yank it back to square. While I'm fixing...
