Lots of good advice ^^ think you are smart to walk from this one. Have seen plenty of nice trucks in NJ that I wished were on the left coast. I think you have plenty of great opportunity to buy a nice truck close to home and respect the restraint you are showing towards this one.
Don't walk...
That would be just scary as all get out riding in the back of one of those things to an uncertain... LZ. I was hesitant to ride in one out of Mazatlan.
I do blast now with a small compressor. And I have used big screw compressors to do production blasting.
For small projects, the compressor you have specified will work great. Just DON'T waste your time, fuel, and air with play sand. Buy good sharp sandblasting grit with some tooth to it and...
That's really cool. And those armor plates will really help, say if you do like I do and take the SO out to coffee on Sunday morning. You know, to a Starbucks in a rough neighborhood.
Was just telling her after seeing your pics "We need a wrecker!" She said "Will it fit in the driveway?"...
I've done a lot of blasting using big diesel screw compressors, and trying to use lots of smaller compressors. That looks like a nice heavy duty compressor, but it will put out it's rated capacity of air and no more. You didn't specify what the needs of your blaster are. Do you have one bought...
That ^^ is beautiful work. Did you have any trouble with the sharpie bleeding through? I know the manual recommends chalk, I wonder if that causes any adhesion problems?
I've bought parts from them. They are slow to ship but I did receive what was ordered. They were supposed to be new old stock parts and they were received in new condition.
I was wondering how I was going to get those lines tightened up. I had thought to thin the paint some more and use a detail gun. Do you think the HVLP gun just isn't capable of atomizing the paint good enough?
Try at a mid sized airport.
How are you going to test it? For what purpose? JP-8 doesn't work real well in common rail diesel engines due to lack of lubricity.
I really like this approach. They should not be rewarded with a bid ~at all, when reusing photos.
The only exception I can see to this is new in the box parts.
Suggest that you put the pyrometer above the steering column where you can see it easily without taking your eyes far off of the road ahead of you. You really need to keep an eye on it when you have the fuel turned up, and having to look down to the dash panel is just that much more time your...
As for your other questions, you really only need primer over bare metal, but you do have to ensure you have it scratched up good so the top coat has some tooth. It also MUST be clean. No grease or oil or nothing is going to stick to it.
I'm very familiar with the Sherwin Williams line. I recommend the Resilience for this application. If you read back a few pages you will find good high res photos of the mix labels. But I recommend you take the easy way out. Tell them you want "383 Green" from the Tualatin Oregon store in...
You can use just about any pyrometer, BUT, the gauge typically has a light in it, and it needs to be 24vdc. So that narrows your choices. I made the mistake of buying a 12vdc gauge and had to buy a resistor for it to work with 24v.
I really like the gauge and sensor from Isspro.
Well at first I was concerned you had a 923 and were going to bob it, which is Just Wrong. As far as buying one, I think that is always a great idea. I really like mine.
