It does not have the welder in it as I thought and was pretty sure it did when I was bidding on it. Picked it up to find it empty.
Yes they were GM rims but I got rid of them today and put a different set of GM rims on it.
Not sure why I bought it but I towed it home today. Gonna put a contact truck bed on it and then not sure how much further I will take it with restoration.
I have three of them. One of them was converted to a civilian cab and I almost pulled out the 6.2 and put in a 454 gas. I am very happy I left it alone. When the 6.2 is maintained properly, it runs great in all 3 of my trucks. I was never a Diesel guy either, but now I have converted. I think...
I put a 700 in my M1028. I had to buy an adapter from, I believe, Advanced Adapters. With this adapter, I did not need to change drive shaft lengths and I was able to keep the stock tail shaft mount. The adapter included a spacer to go in between the tail of the trans & the stock tail shaft...
Recovery
Brought home my 3 Deuces from Selfridge today. Took my Deuce, Tow Bar & Slave Cables. All started & ran, but one had no brakes, so we towed it home.

Welcome. It's a fun, entertaining, informative and educational site. I'm in Howell and I have 3 Deuces from the Selfridge auction I will be selling soon.

I put them on my M1009 and will soon be putting them on my M1028. I bought some well used ones and they have a little shake to them even after balancing them, but that's around 80MPH.
Longest Trip
I drove my M1028 several times from Detroit , MI up to Iron Mt. MI and then decided to upgrade the Trans to a 700R4. Now I go 80MPH all the way up and back several times a year. Just under 400Miles each way.

My M1028 W/ 700R4 Conversion & 285 Tires 17MPG
I probably would get better, but I stand on the pedal most of the time.
So this is the second time this has happened to me. I have bid on Deuces both at Grayling and Selfridge with the intentions of landing 2 trucks each time. During the auction, if 1 truck I am bidding on goes to high I move onto another truck that is within my price range. At the end of both...
