I'd like to pull a trailer with a 2-5/15 ball and curious if and how anybody has installed a receiver on a 5t. I would like a 2-1/2" shank and 20,000lb capacity.
If you have a receiver, please post pictures.
I have a buddy with a dead F350 in San Felipe and asked for help towing it back to Cali.
I'm not worried about it breaking down, but I can imagine how much the federalis would hassle you.
Has anybody ever ventured south across the boarder?
I went with the 932 for the shorter wheelbase but I heard that one of the drawbacks with no weigh on the back is a rougher ride.
Is it a big difference compared to a cargo truck?
I tow a 16k toy hauler now with my 2500hd and electric brakes. The plan is to use my new 932 for this. I'm sure it would be fine wo brakes but I'd like to use them since I have them.
I don't think I'll need to use the load distribution hitch with the 5t though;)
Thanks for the replies guys. I ended up buying the truck I was looking at so, I excited to get going with it.
I did a bit of research and was told of a 24v to 12v trailer converter with integrated brake controller. Has anybody used this?
So I've seen a few threads about installing 18k electric winches on the rear of 939s and it got me thinking.
Could you install a 20k hydraulic winch on the rear to match the front winch? To me, it seems like you could tee the lines that feed the front winch and run them to the back. As long...
Ib,
Did you make it to the dmv? I'm ready to pull the trigger on a 931 or 932 but I've been getting conflicting info on registering in Kali. I'd love to hear good news about registering historic. Am I correct in thinking that you don't need a cdl if its historic?
Good luck with it.
Thanks Wrecker. I will look into it. I thought that if its registered as a historical vehicle it would be smog exempt. Probably wrong though be cause Kali is so jacked!
So I've been researching MVs for a few years and really want a 5t A2. I've narrowed it down to a 925 or 932. He are my plans for using it, and where I need help.
Right now, I pull a 34' bumper pull toy hauler to the desert 5-6 times a year with maybe 2 trips out of state. The trailer weighs...
I had the same dream yesterday when I saw it;).
I was quickly snapped back to reality with the wide load and speed issues too.
Oh well, just have to keep dreaming!
