MEP-803a - Field Flash Grinding Noise

I removed the mag pick-up - it had quite a few metal shaving on it. I removed the shavings and reinstalled it. Good news is the grinding went away but still no power. I am getting 3.3 volts on the lugs and on the convenience outlet.

MEP-803a - Field Flash Grinding Noise

Has anyone had an issue with a grinding type noise with field flashing either an 802a/803a? I am working on a 803 that has no voltage or hertz. When I hold the start to flash I get a grinding type noise. On the S1 #7 I get 24v for a blip and nothing happens. Also, using a good field flash...

    Mep802a vs mep1030

That was just to make a quick video, the newer ammps generators and not a prone to wet stacking as the 802/803

    Mep802a vs mep1030

    .75 gph at 100%

    Mep802a vs mep1030

The 1040 runs smoother and quieter than the 803a. Also, fuel usage on the 1040 uses .69 gph whereas the 803a uses 1 gph.

    Mep802a vs mep1030

I have sold several MEP-802a and two MEP-1030 generators. In my opinion the 1030 is the better choice due to better fuel consumption and being quieter than the 802a. The downside is parts, the engine parts are readily available, but if you have an LCD/electronics issue, sourcing those parts...

    Gov Planet - Chambersburg Experience

I didn't see a pallet anywhere on the site, has to be all buyer pickups. Heck there isn't even much room for semi to turn around in there. If you do go to Chambersburg bring some goodies for the goats, I had to fend them off as they kept jumping on my trailer and nibbling on some shrink wrap....

    Gov Planet - Chambersburg Experience

I thought I write out a quick post about my 1st Gov Planet purchase experience. I have been buying surplus for 15+ years, but as of yet never bought anything from Gov Planet - until last week. I decided to pop on a generator in Chambersburg. I have bought 25+ generators on GL which all were...

GMTK AND SGMTK where are they all?

I bet, surplus must be piling up with IP. I hope the good ole days return again someday. I have inventory that sits for years before finding a buyer and that is why some surplus goes for pennies on the dollar.

GMTK AND SGMTK where are they all?

The was I see it IP is going to have a tough time unloading all of the surplus at such high starting prices and will eventually have to lower them. When they start listing tri-walls filled with equipment/gear I want to see how they are going to price everything with 100+ different NSNs' in the box.

GMTK AND SGMTK where are they all?

Not just tool kits, nearly all surplus has disappeared since GL lost the contract. How about a Standard Automotive Tool Set (SATS)? I just picked this up at auction and anxious to get it home.

    MEP-803a Overvoltage Problem

Well just walked in from playing with it a bit more. I was able to put it in battle switch mode and adjust the hertz to 60 and turn down the pot on the VR. Turned off the battle switch and it stayed running. Turned off and restarted and no overvoltage fault. I will try again tomorrow and see...

    MEP-803a Overvoltage Problem

Yes, it continues to run and has at 120 at the outlet and lugs. As soon as you turn off battle switch it will get the overvoltage fault and stall out.

    MEP-803a Overvoltage Problem

I am hoping the experts can help me on this problem I am having. I have gone through all the posts I can find on overvoltage and can't seem to get anywhere. I have worked on the unit for the past two days and can't get past it. The TM goes through testing the voltage regulator and...
