I strongly suggest that you drain and flush your TC at least once with fuel oil and atf or something like this to clean out any sludge that may be in the case. Just drive it around slow for a few minutes to flush out the crud, shifting forward to reverse as many times as you can. Had the same...
I would guess they have been capped, based on what looks like the edge of the cap half way down the sidewall in your photo. Are all the tires like this?
John Tennis (jatonka) is in upstate NY and a great guy. I think he will build a truck for you, but your $6,000 budget may be tight if it includes buying the donor truck too.
Good Ace answer, my fault; tractor is Mack powered M52A1 maker unknown. Preheater system looks the same as a multi, just mounted different. Tried to get back on forum last week, but site was way bogged down. Were there any changes that caused this?
Took the nozzle apart again and washed out...
Anyone know what the pre-heater fuel pump pressure spec is? Still trying to get the Mack tractor heater to run, and will try to setup a gage to check, but want to use the correct range gage. Still think that the problem is in the nozzle.
The two hot legs (on 240 volt single phase) appear to be out of phase, so I can't hook to the house. On 120 volt setting works great.
We also have a 28 volt unit, use to charge/boost 5 tons. Nearly new condition, got it at the Weare meet, only voltage reg. was NG and cost $125 for a used one...
This would be for backup only, or construction site use. Gen sets appear to be "Y" type, which causes a problem for use @ 240 volts single phase setting.
Every issue of Rock and Dirt has an ad from Adelman's in Canton, Ohio inside the back cover that has been showing a Spicer 7 speed (new) for $2,850. Would really like to see the spec sheet on these.
Recovry, thanks for the pictures. Just what I was looking for.
Still looking for some help in wiring set so I get "correct" 240/220 voltage output single phase.
Also did a similar test on the little 1.5 kw unit. Ran the two vacuums (guessed it had to be about 1.8-2 kw) for over 15 mins no...
Ace is right. Had issues with our truck, so filled TC with fuel oil and ATF. Drove around the block a few times, cycled the shifter between neutral and reverse 50 times and drained out the mud. Installed new 85-90 gear oil, and no problems.
Remember, the TC is in forward sprag when...
Anyone know where I can get or see a diagram of the 4a032's oil system? I know that the rods are splash lubed like the 2a016 & 1a08 but where and how is the rest of the oil system layed out? Didn't see this in the TM.
Also why is the site so slow sometimes? Takes minutes to load and reload.
Somewhere in this 5 ton forum is a thread on Cummins engines and turning up the fuel, turbos, etc. The Cummins uses a different type of throttle than the multis and the Macks and tend to act different to the hand throttle positions. One of the members (supermechanic ?) has a lot of experience...
Both bridge bodies are by now headed to China to be used to make some useless consumer item! Previous post (somewhere here) shows a picture of the truck naked. Bodies are just too big and wide to use on road without a lot of hassle. Real shame, but you can't save everything, or can you...

Do you have any pictures of the slave port and mounting plate on your unit? TM is not clear, and Saturn shows something, but I want to get the original looking setup. Thanks
I have two size 31 batteries (threaded posts) in the M812A1 that came with the truck. With the ribs in the bottom of the boxes, you can't install the step/cover without hitting the posts (don't ask!). I expect to use two size 8 tractor batteries if and when I get the time to update this truck...
