Installed new carb from Saturn, and in one month the "new" gas caused the float to swell so the float sticks shut. Sanded the outside edge and coated with gas tank patch sealer and it has worked OK since. Also, run the carb out of gas when done so the float bowl is empty while idle.

OD Iron has air filters for both the MF/Mack and the 800 series. Saturn shows only the MF/Mack.

Ever since we got the truck, the exhaust manifold center outlet has been broken, and it was slowly getting worse. Finally, this spring I removed the unit from the spare parts truck and had it cleaned up at the local machine shop. We installed it yesterday in the misty rain.

Would sure like to have one of those cargo pallets! If we did, I wouldn't be thinking about removing the M812's A-frame and hoist and installing a cargo body.

Looking again at the photos of the carb, it looks like the M125's carb base is 180 degrees different than the 5 ton. The linkage lever is on the right side of the engine on the 602 and the dashpot for the gov is on the inside next to the valve cover. Carb does look the same except for that...

Saturn has the 5 ton carb update kits. Number on our replacement unit is 29D14R List #13926, dated 9-20-82. Just be sure it is the same, as there are hundreds of different setups for these old carbs. Also check Memphis, but hold on to your wallet.
