You should hear a release of air as you move the gear shift from a forward gear to reverse and from reverse to a forward gear. If you don't, you may have a problem with the sprag activater. If you hear the air, I would get it stuck again and very carefully look to see if the front drive line is...
I agree that it should not be over 26k gvw. You also don't want this because it will likely require you to have a CDL (commercial drivers license). A CDL requires medical checkups etc and is a pain to maintain unless you are making money from it. I use Gulfway insurance out of Florida. It is...
I agree that GL is a painful company to deal with, wasting our tax $$ and providing very poor service. I would like to chat with the KO once the number becomes available
Congrats on the trip! Another post says he has 33 x 12.50 - 16s with no lift. My blazer has a 2.5" lift with 33 x 12.50 - 15s, but they seemed to rub before the lift kit.
I've pulled some of them out and there was nothing left of the heating element. Truck still seems fine, so it must have burned up and when out the exhaust.
I could have used one of these a few times in my life! My dad talked about moving a barn with one once. The price wasn't outragious, but he never got around to moving it.
"More pressing plans are for some sort of an overdrive setup. Can't decide between a 4L85E or a Gear Vendors. Plus and minuses to each."
I know this thread is almost dead since chevymike is now becoming dodgemike :).
What transmission and what diff ratio do the cucv's have? My blazer has a...
I went with a 2.5" lift on mine, all with recurved springs (no blocks). It depends on what you want to do, but I drive on some side hills and really don't want to roll. The 2" adds enough height that I don't bottom the suspension, but still low enough that I don't worry much about rolling.
I have a 82 blazer that had a 6.2 that went bad. Had a 6.5 put in and I'm very happy with it. My frame didn't need to be cut at all. From what I heard at the time the 6.5s were built stonger. The turbo makes these run smoother. If the 6.5 has an electronically controlled pump, that is even...
It really doesn't seem like your pump would cause it to stop turning in a particular spot (center) did you raise the front wheels off the ground and see turns freely both directions without the engine running? if it catches or gets harder to turn at the center? Seems to me that something is...
If it was an 818 you should see a big round air filter on the drivers fender. Not sure what this is. I have both a duece and a 5-ton. I like driving the 5-ton a lot better mainly because of the power-steering. I believe that when you are in a forward gear the sprauge allows the front driveline...
