Would it be possible your winch brake is either adjusted to tight or rusted up? Mine was seized and i kept breaking shear pins till i found out about the brake. Its on the bottom right side of the winch if your looking at the truck. Think there's 6 or so bolts on the cover... Good luck

HAHA. I know the picture is small but gosh its a deuce not m-37... I was winching off a 4430 john deere with a snatch block. I was able to hook to the trailer via a homemade 5th wheel dolly that has a pintle hook up.

There's two seals. One behind the inner bearing and one in front of the outter bearing. They sandwhich the bearings to keep the oil from washing the grease out of the bearing. Also a peice of cork goes in the key way. Taking the tires off is the hardest part of the job:evil:
