I have a Vr board from a oo3 I believe that I have no idea if it is good. Would it hurt anything to install it in a working 002 to see if it is any good? I know very little about the electrical side of things.
I am having the same issue with an 002. It will run for 30 seconds or so and then it shuts off with white smoke. Shut off solenoid is not shutting it down so it must be fuel related. I cleaned ip, check valves in fuel pumps, inline check valves and all lines I am thinking maybe a piece of junk...
Yes I pinned the ip but cleaned it out with carb cleaner without taking it apart. I took the pin out to spin the gear and free everything up. And pinned again to reinstall. Pump works as it should.
Everything is tight. I pulled injectors out and flipped upside down. Turned motor over until they sprayed and reinstalled. As far as I can tell everything is correct unless I missed something
I would like to confirm my thinking on the ip pump timing. How many revolutions does the pump turn as compared to the flywheel ?
I installed the ip pump but am getting fuel in the intake and hard starting/ not wanting to run. Should I put the flywheel on the pc mark, pull the pump and spin it...
This pump i disassembled last night was hardly stuck..i may have gotten lucky. the wire clip for holding the button went flying and i could not find it..got up this morning and went around with a magnet..i found it..now i know that was pure luck
i just went off the gauge for the voltage..I will test it off the lugs tomorrow..i just bought a 5500w-7500w electric garage heater to load test.
As for the IP i think i will take out the original and free it up..i think the plunger may have given up. i need to take the pump off of these and...
ok i have and update and a few questions..
#1 mep003a is up and running, no issues to report
#2 mep003a is unstuck.. piston closest to the fan was the issue. very light rust. soaked it in atf and seafoam for a week with heads off and gave it a little love here and there. cylinder wall cleaned up...
Yes I did get a good deal with lots of spare parts new 002 engines, trailer. I have one for my off grid shop that works great so I figured I needed a backup 002 for my cabin and camping spot on my land. Now I can phase out my old gas gennys that can’t always power everything I need
I had bought a 003a a couple weeks ago and got lucky. It started up and runs great. So I was bitten by the mep bug and bought 6 more. 3-002a’s and 3-003a’s. They haven’t been run in 10 plus years or more. The best 003 was filled with thick black diesel.
I cleaned out all lines, pumps, tank...
I am buying a package deal and was trying to identify the trailer that is part of the deal. It has 2 mep003a gens One between the wheels and one that is across the front of the trailer. There was mention of a switch between the two generators. The M103-a3 looks like the one
I took one battery out of my tractor that is put away for the winter and the starting battery from my boat to get by until spring. You don’t need anything fancy or huge cca. It’s only a four cylinder diesel engine that should start easy.
