I have one proper tie down, and for the other side I just used a long section of chute cord and tied to the end of the antenna and then to the bumper so they matched. It works for me. I'll try and send you a pic of the metal piece in a p/m it's nothing complicated
I was lucky and found good slider windows at the junk yard for $35. Maybe I'm lucky, but mine don't leak a bit. I love having the sliders open in the summer. A friend of mine just did the power rear window switch over on his k-5, all I can say is, hope you have skinny arms and small hands...
Hey, My M1009 and Warriorbob's are "twin's". I got same markings ! Mine is now displaying " Air Force Security Police Military Working Dog" markings after what I drove while station in S. Korea. With my own k-9 inside people always ask, it it real?
I mounted an SCBA (fire dept. air bottle) in the back of my 1009 with plenty of coil air hose to reach around the whole truck. It's cheap and functional. Most FD's have old steel air bottles laying around since they went to fiberglass or aluminum.
Give this a try, I found it on another site, it's a cheap fix: Easy alternative Fix. Go to Home Depot or Lowes Plumbing Department. Buy a piece of PEX 1/2" flexible hose. (It looks like teflon white) Cut off a piece of the tube the length of the striker area ---about 3/4". Slit it with a...
Your Back ! I beleive we've been waiting to see what your next step would be on your return home. I remember when I was stationed at McDill, seeing their cucv's all running in their compound for 1/2 a day. Those trucks rarely moved. Hey, keep the pics posted, and again thanks for your service...
That would have been some great pictures; a fine example of "Quality American made" vehicle pulling a a foreign made pile of sheet out of a 1" snow bank. I think its a wonder you didn't pull the Honda apart at the door seams. lolrofl:grd:
I came across this product while searching for "automotive screws". I believe the "Max-nut" would work very well for mounting antenna hardware and the like. I know I had a heck of a time getting riv-nuts (thanks 319 for the assist on them) I just thought I would post this in hopes of helping...
Sorry to hear you want to leave ; no need to leave the site though. Reading all -the vast information on here is half the fun. Stick around, you have experience in owning a piece of history and may be able to help some else out.
WHen I got my M1009 I remembered that there was a light, however mine didn't work. some idiot went and yanked the buld out, not the bulb base. I use two of those fancy LED magnetic lights on the ceiling.....knock on od green, haven't been hit in the head....yet! (the wife don't count)
I haven't done anything special to mine in two winters here in northern Ohio except maybe a bit stronger than 50/50 blend in the rad. I do go out and start her up twice a week when its gets 10' or colder just to keep the batts. up. A few miles around the block doesn't hurt especially if its...
