I thought for sure owner would have chirped in by now. I believe they were in Burbank. I'm with you all, it's a great show, pricey+- on some stuff, and I agree on they need to ditch mini-van and buy a mv; would make the show way more appealing......haha
While watching American Pickers Monday evening, I spotted a M1008 that was parked on the street at one of their stops near the "Hollywood" sign. Just wondering if it was someone's from here.
Let me correct myself guys. I did weld in the new metal, I DID NOT, use seal sealer to glue the sections in. What I should have said is that after the welding was done, I went over the welded seams with the seam sealer to give it a more factory look........Sorry for the confusion on my part...
I used the 3M last summer and so far so good. It's what they use at the factory. The paint is sticking really well, no leaks. I did notice that it is extremly sticky stuff and had a bear smoothing it out so my m1009 could maintain that factory look.

I only posted it to show that there is another place to get them as well. I can't believe the one I saw I "EEEEEEbay" who whoda ever thought, over a hundred dollars for a tuna can?
I suspect all 10" of our last storm on Friday will be gone since it's raining buckets outside right now. Can't sleep for the thunder and heavy rain! AT LEAST SNOW IS QUIET !
I believe he's talking about the bottom rubber seal that goes under the fiberglass top. You can get them through LMC Truck. The plastic end is attatched to it. I'm not for certain w/o looking, but I'm pretty sure you can buy a tailgate skin. If its not rusted too bad, you can cut the bad...
When I first got my 1009, Everything was changed, like Westech stated. This past fall, I noticed the milage going down from mid 20's to the mid teens. After further inspection was done, I discovered that the rear brakes were dragging and the E-brake as well.(seems my son pushed it down and it...
Mine kinda varies, in the summer I can 26 to 28 mpg, it goes down to 22 to 25 in the winter but I attribute that to having to let her sit and idle for a while so the cab is nice and warm plus the winter mix at the pumps. I have access to bio but have not tried it yet. I attended a seminar...
