Man I should have just let it lie until the truck was at my house. That thing has been there for years, but I open my mouth and someone else is gonna decide that they have to have it.aua
Yea Mike, that's the one that I have in mind. It is kind of cut up isn't it? I was just up that way a couple of weeks ago. I looked at a bunch of trucks, but that is the one that I keep coming back around to.
I don't know if this one is actually restorable or not. I believe that the inside is gutted and the shell has at least one big hole cut in it. The rest of the truck is rusted to heck too. The word is that a previous owner was trying to make a camper out of it. I'm just trying to establish how...
As the title says, "how many R-2 crash-trucks are known to be still in existence? I know that the trucks are rare, but how rare?
Thanks in advance for any feedback
They had this other trailer that looks like it may have at least started out military. It has a different layout. Also I just noticed that in the last picture above, my pick-up truck is parked next to the M123A1C. It makes my truck look like a toy truck.
So, I'm coming off of night shift this morning and I did one of those, "Did I just see what I thought I just saw?" things. I work at a steel mill and one of the satelite companies that does some of the bigger structural work for us has this white M123 sitting out back. Looks like they have it...
The closest place that I know of is John Winslow Sales ( http://www.jwinslowsales.com/ ) in Halifax, NC. I visited there place last weekend while I was on vacation in VA. and they were building a bobbed truck for a guy in Fl. They were really nice guys, took the time to show me around and talk...
Also compromises with power were surely made in order to provide the "multi fuel" capability. Compromises to the piston and combustion chamber, injection hardware and so on.
I've been considering something along the same lines, but for different reasons. I am 6'7" tall, and need some extra leg room, well at least I will if I ever get my truck.
Too rich for my wallet, but thought someone may be interested. This truck has been sitting for awhile now, so either the owner is in no hurry to sell or may be more willing to deal? If anyone needs additional pics pm me, it isn't too far from my house.
