Out with the old - in with the new!

Hats off to you guys for all that you do. I love this site. Here is my idea. Along with the member map how about a map of suppliers and junkyards. I usually try to stop by a yard or supplier whenever I am traveling if practical. May not be feasible, but just a suggestion.

22 volts at output of alt2 to ground is pretty close to the 24 volts you're looking for, one batt at 14 volts and the other one dead sounds like maybe a bad battery? would that cause the gen light to stay off?

It was great to meet you guys!. What a outstanding group of guys and gals! When i rolled out this morning, we had the new motor in, all of the accessories re-installed and tight, radiator etc back in. Phil was bolting up the flex plate. Left to finish was exhaust pipes and tightening up the...

PM me Mitch's address if you guys still need a hand getting that engine down. I live just outside Charleston and don't at all mind heading over to lend a hand.

    What do you think?

The consensus seems to be that they were originally for an APC. They are rubber with metal cross pieces and rubber tread. I'll know more if I end up with this truck. Then I can see how they fit and how the truck operates. I'm guessing that steering isn't gonna be great. I'm also guessing that...

    What do you think?

I appreciate you're feedback on sprags. I did not want to ask you guys what you think it's worth because the normal response is "it's worth whatever you're willing to pay", and I understand that. However, this will be my first deuce and I can't afford to overpay because I also realize that this...

    What do you think?

Wreckerman, I haven't seen them installed on the truck, I was told that they have been used on another deuce to get it through the swamp. Either way it isn't a deal breaker. There are a couple of wheels with fluid on the inside, but that comes with the territory. The truck has been sitting for...

    What do you think?

I've really been wanting a deuce for over a year now, but living in a HOA type situation it just didn't seem feasable. During this time I've been looking into other MV's such as a M37 or a M1008 that would be ok in the driveway. A week or so ago while driving to work I thought I saw a deuce...

    1/2 track deuce

Well if things work out for me, I may have a deuce and those tracks soon. If that happens for me we'll try it out.

    1/2 track deuce

what are these tracks? I was told that these were for a 2.5 ton. The gentleman said that he has used them and I have no reason to doubt him. He runs a seeding company and said that he used these in swampy areas. And a picture of a ZOMBIE that was loitering in front of my house last night.

Congratulations magic, it looks like a very nice truck.

How many R-2 crashtrucks still alive?

Jay, that's a heck of a nice offer. I would want to take another trip up to look it over more thoroughly before I actually bought it. I was actually thinking of getting both the R2 and the white M37 parked next to it in the hopes of being able to put together one good truck. The more I learn...

How many R-2 crashtrucks still alive?

I just dug through Craigslist and came up with two for sale. One in NJ and one in Boone, NC, so there are still quite a few of them kicking around. As for looks, I like the ambulance body better, but I've seen very few of them.
