I appreciate all the advice! I don't know why this one cruises faster than average, I just know that it does. I spent a bit of my youth driving dump trucks so driving it is a bit of a blast from the past. It goes great. I'm sure there will be some tinkering on it, but that is half the fun right...
2,700 rpms......speed was verified by the chase truck and gps......I dunno.....but
55 is a breeze at 2,500
more pics from today!
also, I think it has air assisted steering...I took a couple pics but will make a separate post on it......maybe I got lucky.....
I pounded it around the back 40...
Well, I picked up my first Deuce yesterday, a 1968 Kaiser M35A2. I drove the 300+ miles to Jefferson City and pawed it over. 12,215 miles and looked in good shape. Went over the entire truck as talked about on this site. Checked oil, radiator, tranny, transfer, differentials, brakes, tires, lug...
I know everyone says that you only need a regular drivers license to drive a Deuce, except in Kali, but can someone point me to something legal in this regard? I'm in Kansas, and picking up my first Deuce tomorrow and would like to be able to place a copy in the truck.
How do you like the S-280? Do you have any more pics you can share?
Any idea on how hard they are to find?
My goal is to find one and turn it into a camper......
your truck looks great!
I plan on moving my rack too. It's placement is, how do you say....inconvenient....
I'm not sure about the unit, but I plan on keeping the stencil, adds character.
I'd be interested in seeing what everyone who nabbed one does with their shelter and the mods they make.
and if anyone has a line...
Yes the stencil is on both sides. Actually I think it was on all of them went up for auction. I agree the lights are a nice touch.
Yes, it's a keeper. Looking forward to making some mods on it.
OK, let's see if this works!
Here (hopefully) are some pics of how I lugged it home on my F150.
It's pretty clean. It has a storage rack on the front that is a bit too low
and doesn't clear the roof of the Ford. If I decide to use it with this truck
I'll raise it enough to clear. Is wired for...
I picked up my S250 shelter today at Fort Riley. First time at GL there, man it was great. Took about 10 minutes total from when I walked in to when they had it loaded on my truck. I strapped it down and then went and looked at what else they had.
GL people were awesome, helpful and polite. Very...
fuel burning heater value
what would an excellent condition fuel burning personnel heater cost? How hard are they to find and are they really that good? How hard are they to install?
I figured it would be best to have some help trying to load it, and better if I could get some help from someone with a trailer. Don't think I could get it into the back of my F150 by myself....
If someone with a trailer wanted to help, I'd make it worth your while. I'm not far from Riley, but...
I won a S250 shelter auction at Fort Riley and could use a hand getting it home if anyone can help. I live in Chapman, so am only 20 minutes from the gate.
If you can help please email me at gun.writer@gmail.com, I'd be happy to make it worth your while

Question, what military trailer would an S-250 shelter fit on the best?
thanks for any and all input!
I'm eagerly awaiting my EUC to clear on my new M35A2 and am already looking at other goodies to go with it...you guys make this hobby adictive!
