FYI, when trouble shooting, do one thing/one adjustment/one change then try to start her up. If she won't do one more chance/ adjustment and then try to start again. And on and on and on. The point is if your truck is dead and you fiddle around with fifteen different things, you won't know what...
Your point about heavy trailers requiring break away brakes is exactly my point. Everyones suggestions about using 105 or M200 or m796 sound good but I haven't seen anyone exactly giving these parts away. Does anyone know of sources for these parts?
Refering again to the pic. in post #5, it looks like the original truck was a long frame deuce. Notice the large space between the fuel tank and the rear tires. This seems to be the key if ya'll want to keep the stock bed.
I looked at the Master Craft site and found the Mil. version of these seats and called to get pricing. They told me that they cannot sell the Mil. grade seats, but their Baja RS seat is the same it just doesn't have something or other that the Mil. version does. They also said that for $83...
My take on it when first read was the idea that the deuce cab is tapered outward as going twards the back (front near the vents is skinnier width than at the rear). So I thought that he would use the wider 800 or 900 to join to the back where the deuce is at its widest and it would all match...
If you did the same as in the photo AND bobbed the truck you'd probably have such a small bed that it would seem silly and not hold much. Think of the proportions, it would have a giant front end that finishes to a dinky bed. Maybe cool like a chopped rock climber. I wonder if some one could...
Call me dumb, but what is this 800 and 900 series you are talking about? How does this relate to a regular ol' deuce?
Also, just my opinion - Bondo does not belong on a deuce!
Ahmmmmm.....so whats the deal with the winches? Do you have them to sell? Cool seats, they look like a must to me. Is there enough room in the cab to slide them back, I mean hows the leg room. As you know, the deuce cab is tight and I've got my seat all the way back now. I'd like to look...
Its too bad that you had to have that happen, but it certainly makes one want to check theirs immediatly. The big question is how did this happen? Previous owners abuse? If you found the tab bent down then it makes me wonder how the nut backed off enough so that the bearing (I assume) was...
I messaged Mdmorgan and he said that he hasn't crossed this bridge yet. I talked to a heavy truck mechanic today and came up with the following points and ideas.
- The way that MV trailers are set up does not allow for trailer self braking when lost on the road from its tow vehicle. Upon...
"Why not set it up like a m1061? It has (basically) 2 m105 master cylinders and a single air tank. Just rob the safety valve, tank and actuators of some donor m105's?" QUOTE
Right, are the 105's powerfull enough, and why did you say 2 master cylinders? Are you saying to have one per side...
I've done 3 zipper styles and it looks like I'm headed twards number 4. My truck came with solid boots that were both torn so I replaced both of them with the zipper style. Then I thought, great, I'm good to go in this department, don't have to worry about these things for a while. Well don't...
