OKC: Need pallet of tires picked up ASAP

Thanks rob for the offer. You guys are great. I'm gonna make a run up to okc on the 9th to get the tires from Seth and pickup some other parts for my build. By the end of it my 25+5 trailer will be full and I'll be trickin on the side of the road for diesel money to get home! Brett

OKC: Need pallet of tires picked up ASAP

I again want to thank Seth for bailing me out on these tires! He said they looked like they were in great shape which was a relief. That was my first GL win! Looking forward to getting them home and starting my build brett

So, what's the one thing you'd change?

I'd like to use the search button and not the advance search all the time. There is a google search bar covering it always. Don't know if that's on my end or not? I do want to thank you for building/helping build my favorite forum. This has the friendliest and most helpful members I've come...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Let me know what you start us a thread. I think your right about me getting a Holmes 440 but the boom raises by a hand winch on the passenger side. Where did you find all your info? I wish there was a site half as useful for the wreckers as SS is. brett

OKC: Need pallet of tires picked up ASAP

I won a pallet of 4 37" Goodyear tires about two weeks ago. My hotshot driver has not and will not give me a date of pickup or delivery and keep getting the run around. They were supposed to be picked up by tues the 22nd at the latest (10 days from invoice). GL is being great but I would sure...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Thats going to be slick when it's done! If I had a hyd winch I could justify figuring out the hyd and add a ram to raise the boom. According to the seller, it is chain drive. As it is now, the boom is cable operated and has a manual extendable boom section. I don't plan on using it for many...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Its a custom bed from a late 70s chevy. Has a Braden pto winch but will probably convert it to an electric or hydraulic due to having a 208 instead of 205. If you check out bsf recovery team or go to YouTube and search recoveryteam, you'll see the inspiration for my build. brett

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

I painted mine gray to match the rest of our trucks. Went with flat behr though. Will be leaving for a road trip to gather all the parts needed to convert to a 4" lifted on 37s dually with a wrecker bed. Brett

TX: ISO: Tow Bar for M818

I am looking to borrow/rent a tow bar capable of bringing an 818 home. It's a two for one deal. Both are drivable but not enough drivers! I am in the Houston area. Would probably be needed for two days max. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Brett

Do I need a transmision cooler?

I see your point but won't the coolant heat the fluid back up? Seems like the cooling capacity for the truck is adequate enough to handle the tranny and it would help the fluid life to cool it on its way back in it. Brett

    Diagnosis verification request: Coolant Sensor

I bought a water temp gauge from napa and installed it in that sensors place. Very easy, $20 and 15 mins. I didn't want to rely on a 30 year old bulb gauge for something so important brett

    Wrecker Identification Help needed

One thing to considered is your looking thru rose colored glasses. I was in your shoes a few weeks ago. I found a cucv that had been sitting for a year. I never saw rust when looking it over. I was blinded my how great I thought it was. When I got it home I found several holes in the cab from...

    Thermostat not opening.

I installed a manual water temp gauge in the volt meter hole. theres room to place it next to it also. cheap insurance and you will be able to see right where you are. I removed the stock sensor on the front side of the DS block. Took about 10 mins. stays right at 190 with 1k lbs of water in the...
