In case some people don't know, there are a lot of diesel pick ups ('94-'02 dodge, '98-04? Fords) that use 3.5" exhaust pipe from the factory you can rob bends off of. Just find a buddy that has swapped his exhaust for bigger and swazall it when he's not looking...lol.
I could provide some alternate parking at my place if everyone decides to come to central LA. If it's close enough to me this year I might be able to make it, I'll talk with the wife more as the rally gets closer.
Well did some looking on the truck, no leaks that I can see, lines are tight, nothing is out of place. Next weekend I plan on changing the fuel filters now that I know the lines are good (at least I think).
Now for the fun part, I have a blown head gasket aua...
No worries Andrew, I know your busy.......I'm just being a pansy ...lol. I think some hard driving is in order, I have two five tons here I could drag along with a few more items. I think I just really need to drive the piss out of the truck for a good ride, Stacy has a fat girlfriend of hers...
I haven't got all the paperwork together to drive it legally on the road, so I have been found and round our 5 acre patch trying to keep it above 1500rpm
I doubt mine is the rod, it idles at 800rpm. If the truck starts jumping in rpm I can lightly place my foot on the throttle and let off which will make the engine plane out a little. But if I bump the throttle it starts over up and down in the rpm.
Okay, I'm feeling a little more confident now knowing there is more than the governor and leaks. I'll have to start at the tank and work to the injectors. Thanks guys for the responses, I know how redundant threads are, I'm just going crazy and feel overwhelmed because this engine is new to me.
Even though the filters seem clean and there is no trash pouring out of them should I still change them? I'm not aware of how touchy they are with filters.
