Hi CARNAC: Not sure if you or others can help with this:
The option code sticker vin (in the glovebox) doesn't match the vin plates riveted to the truck. No surprise - someone likely switched the glove box. But I would like to find out the history (and also the actual option codes for a M1031)...
Which isn't necesarily bad, but IS weird. They (Oregon) have the model listed as a "D3P" What is this, and shouldn't it be a K30 or something? All I can find for D3P is that the speedo is gear driven...
Are there any alternators compatible with the CUCV 24v system and stock mounting brackets that have a higher output current than 100A? 200A would be nice...
Disregard the title - can't change it.

I notice you thinned out the outer part of the D70HD axel - was that easier do you think than enlarging the plates for the disc conversion to fit a 4" axel?
Now you have the dually hubs on the Dana 60, what is the WMS? Also, what is the WMS on that SRW Dana 70HD... Did you keep the PTO once you got rid of the utility box? What will you use it for if you did? (and if you removed it and still have it/want to sell it drop me a line - I need to replace...
Update: After several hours of test fitting and brainstorming, a Blazer tank can be forced to fit into a M1031 but...
Have to relocate the right shock forward of the axle. Not sure how that will affect ride / suspension characteristics.
Have to go to a single exhaust system located on the...
About 900 pounds including the tanks. Truck can haul a payload of 4000# so leaves 3100# for the box, people and a camper. Not planning to add that much!
Sweet - so it looks like I need to locate some Suburban cross members then modify the rear one - adapting the ends to fit the Pintle braces, and the front one to get the tank level. Diff clearance is gonna be tight thanks to the CUCV rear bumper/pintle bracing system... Then I'll have to locate...
Believe it or not I looked at building a sub-bed tank frame conforming that would use the space left by a 1" lift and drop down behind the wheels on either side and on the right between the driveshaft and the frame rail - but the manufacturing costs were stupid and the plumbing not much...
Thanks for the link. Darn net police at work... will have to try tomorrow from home! Have hear of other CIVE blazer-P/U swaps, just not any CUCV's Hopefully the CUCV pintle bracing woun't be a problem but we'll see...
UPDATE:
Tried to fit a OEM Suburban tank = too long. Needs to be at least 4" shorter. Trying to find a Blazer tank for the rear - but the skid plate I test fit was also about 2" too long.
Anyone successfully mounted a Blazer (M1009) tank in a M1008 / M1028 / M1031?
If not will have to...
Thanks CUCVNUT - but not so sure. Stacked them (dam heavy too) beside the originals. Would have to get a custom tank or a 16 gallon OEM due to the 62" springs now projecting 4" further forward. Or relocate the axel to the rear.
Then comes the rear mount - the brace for the bumper/pintle has...
I was wondering why if ether destroys diesels, the Canadian military had ether starting assist systems permanetly installed on their 2.5 tons - which are almost identical to the US ones (built under license from same design using same parts sources)
The application to the CUCV's 6.2 engines...
