Other than the little single cylinder powered pumps for fuel (one on E-bay now) were there any other 2 or 4 cylinder powered water pumps made? Would really like to have a 3" or 4" 4 cylinder powered unit if they exist. Thanks
This is somewhat the same problem we have with the water truck, but the brakes do not lock or bind. Tried venting the right front line (no glad hands) but the brake lights still stay on, and no air comes out. Takes between 1 and 5 minutes to go out, depending on how hard the brakes are used...
When I read the manual, I understood that the two plugs were also for forcing grease into the CV joint as much as for checking the level. When I just did the joints on the front of the tractor, I greased the king pin/trunnion fittings with 3 or 4 shots and then took out the two plugs and put...
I have been following this thread for a while, since the M812 is a Cummins. A local trucker/engine builder here, built a hypo 855 Cummins a few years ago with the help and advice of the guys in PA. They figured that they were getting nearly 1000 hp out of a stock block engine with a compound...
Oil should be a WIX 51954. This is the standard can type element for the 855 Cummins engines. Paid about $12 locally. Fuel filter is mil spec, and not a Cummins #, but is availabel locally.
Well, the spare truck is up in my town, picked up today using a Landoll trailer. Again, I didn't bring a camera, but the former owner's son had his and promised to e-mail pictures. Will post as soon as they show up.
If anyone is thinking about a move for their 5 ton truck, I would highly...
Yes, the wiring is shown on the inside cover, and this is partly how, along with Ace's famous manuals, I found that the on/off switch was wrong. Need to also check the other units under the cover, that have to do with the cycles.
These are the M328 style bridge trucks (but both are marked M139), with the huge flatbed bodies to haul the early modular style bridges, so there is no rear winch like the M812A1.
Not to worry, not going to cut up the truck chassis, just the bodies. The R6602 is frozen from either overheating or something else, but the rest of the running gear is OK with very little hours. Need TC case and tie-rod for the tractor at home. Also plan on using/swapping the winch on to the...
When we bought the water truck 2 years ago, it also came with a sister bridge truck as a spare, with the water truck's bridge body setting on the back. Finally got to go down to Berlin MA to pull it out of the weeds and get it ready to go on to a Landoll trailer sometime this week. Had to cut...
Anyone have any experience with the 1.5 kw AC sets? Got the new unit, a little beat, but it did run but no power on any of the terminals. The VR is OK, as I switched it out with the DC unit and it worked fine. Someone installed a single pole switch on the terminal on/off switch and wired all...
Now, since the 240 volt position on the selector switch is not usable on a home system without additional work, what about the 1.5 kw sets? I just got one of these too, (not picked up yet) and am wondering about the wiring for these units.
Thanks
Any idea which Mazda car/truck starter fits? Would have thought that something from the 1960-70s would be a cross over as this is the vintage of these little units. Mounting looks like a Mopar mount or something close.
So, 240 volt single phase mil is not 240 volt single phase std? This could be exactly the problem. Any further explanation for why this is so on this type of gen set?
Trust what Don says, from experience, when an air filter on a diesel engine is plugged or partly blocked, power drops off rapidly and fuel use goes up and out the stack real quick. Had a Drott 40 (dating myself) on a dusty jobsite that when the air filter was getting near to ready to change...
All good points.
1) Yes the garage sub panel was disconnected from the house/main. Garage is single phase 200 amp box 240 volt.
2) Yes the voltage was checked at the L1 and L2 terminals and showed 240 volts between them and 120 volts from hot terminal (either L1 or L2) to ground. Gen set...
I know this is an older post, but I found more #s on the rear ends. The rear rear is dated Sept 67, and the front rear is marked May 68. The number on the front end now makes sense, as Feb 69. So, based on the above dates, the truck was made in 1969 or had the rears switched around and I have...
