My 6.2 sounds like crap on startup for about 15 sec as oil pressure builds. It then sounds a little less like crap. After a 3 minute warm up I take off and it sounds like crap again. I can't recall what I would call the noise but it's enough for me to take it very easy on it til it warms up...
So after much tire swapping and researching balancing ideas I think I figured out what happened. When I first got my truck with 37" wrangler m/t's on it, I remember the ride being great. I started playing with tire pressures and started noticing balance issues. During this time I put a different...
I wasn't thinking about feeding through the valve stem itself. On my wheel it looks like there are 2 parts. One is a fitting that goes through the wheel and is held in by a nut on the inside of the wheel. The other is a 1/2" threaded fitting which screws into that. I was thinking that by...
I have never heard of the powder until this thread and after some research I'm very interested in trying it. Do I need to break the tire down to install it or can I unscrew the valve stem and add it that way? This is for hmmwv wheels with 37's. Thanks for any help.
Just for clarity, I'm assuming the buzzer is an indicator for the fault light? If you let the trans cool and the fault does not go away I would lean towards a faulty sensor. Not sure if you would need to turn the truck off to reset the fault but I wouldn't want to risk anything at -5*. Good luck.
I drove an 88 s10 with 250k on a knocking 4 banger, loaded with my dirt bike and a ton of gear about 400 miles from Maryland to Kentucky by my self once. So yeah...why not.
Some people are forgetting about power curves. You could put a 600 HP engine in a HMMWV and if all the power is at high Rpms it will be all but undrivable under normal conditions. It might have power but what happens when you shift into 3rd at 15 mph? Diesels put out lots of torque at low rpms...
Good observation. I have that one blocked off as well. Also it would be worth mentioning to have a good seal on the air cleaner housing lid and of course every seal up to the turbo intake.
I took this idea from rusty a while back. The only modification I made was I welded a handle extension onto the top of the existing handle. When I open the side engine cover it's right there.
