Hi guys, thanks to 81wt2206, I found the LF axle & brake parts at Steve McLean's place in Limerick!!!! Last mo he got a freight qt to ship 1 pallet @ 2000# to SLC UT for $ 600 & he was trying to find better, is now $812 -- any one have any suggestions, last qt is from NE TC. Would like any...

    Oshkosh WT 2206 plow trucks

Cool, I always wanted my own fire truck!! Looks to be in pretty good shape, does it all work? I understand the larger HP, that must be very heavy when full of H2O!

    Propane on a five ton???

Back in the late 50's I recall all the John Deer tractors on my uncle's farms in NM ran on propane, in the winter, had to start them on another fuel (gas disel?) & then after running switching to butane, they ran them all day long in the fields on propane. These were the old giant 2 cylinder...

    Oshkosh WT 2206 plow trucks

Thanks JT, I think it has a 2-speed axle, but I do not recall, I will dig out a manual & see what specs say, snce it is a rough road vehical, it must have. But I will check. I have the Cat 1693, 325 HP accordating to the plate, I have been told the earler re-builds got the 1693 & later 3406, my...

    NAPA/oil filter M35 questions

Recomend you get a NAPA # SL134, it is the break light sending unit on the air/hydrolic unit, it is plastic & will break & lose fluid. Cost is <$10 & easy to change. I had 1 break when picked up my last M35A2C & it failed late at night, had to get a plug to fill the hole till I could get a new...

    Oshkosh WT 2206 plow trucks

Well that settles it we have a P serries & a WT-2206! If avilable the WT-2206 is worth trying to save as not much in the way of parts sources if nothing else. That tag on the 2206 is interesting, I understand the year of reman was first in the serrial # 86-, but the re man said 82? some what...

    Oshkosh WT 2206 plow trucks

Thanks for the pix's Dave, I have seen a/c with starters like that, but not a truck, cool. My WT-2206 was re-built in 86 & has a Cat 1693, I have been told the later re-builds got the 3406. That has got to be a very old truck with that starter, very interesting.

    Oshkosh WT 2206 plow trucks

Great, try to see a data plate to see if WT-2206, or the P serries, both from Oshkosh & look similar.

    Oshkosh WT 2206 plow trucks

There are very few places to get parts for the WT-2206's, in 18 mo's I found 1, so there is a market for parts for them, I know of at least 2 that were bought fro GL that are missing the same LF axle parts my truck is missing. I sure hope you can save them for parts if nothing else as there is...

    Oshkosh WT 2206 plow trucks

I spoke to Steve 2 weeks ago, he said he had all the parts I need, but is busy keeping all the plow truck's running due to all the snow, when things slow down he will get me prices. Palmer spring did not have new brake parts other than wheel cilnders. So after about 18 mos of looking I think...

    Plow Truck

That is an Oshkosh WT-2206 plow truck. The USAF had them made in the 50's to clear runways for B52 to TO or land. I think they had to be able to clear it in 10 or 15". They exceded the spec & worked so well in the 80's the AF sent them bact to Oshkosh for a 0 time new factory warranty...

    Oshkosh WT 2206 plow trucks

Thanks Tim & SGM, I will contact both & hope to get lucky, I did see what looked like a 2206 on Steve's site! Tim, you may have a greater sickness than I if you have 2- 2206's although from what I have learned in the last year I have owned it & been searching for parts, they are very hard to...
