That is just sad...have there been a lot of IED attacks in Louisiana that I haven't heard about??? It actually looks like some idiot tried to move some of them by putting a fork inside the cab and lifting! I'm sure everyone on the forum would like a boneyard 10-15 minutes away when you just...

The Rocket Chemical Company created WD40,(Water Displacement Formula perfected on the 40th try) that most prized fluid of our workshop, was developed to protect the paper thin stainless steel skin of the Atlas Missiles. The Atlas Rockets were made in CA and the salt in the air caused issues. The...

uoooh uoooh uoooh uoooh uoooh! Steel...., machines, gravity, heights, uoooh uoooh uoooh (per Tim the Toolman Taylor). BTW, what specific parts did you use to make your SEE Q-D on the front arms? What attachments do you use regularly, other than the snow blower - unless it works on sand.

That could work, I have used a mechanical thumb on our excavator(track hoe) for years, can adjust the pinch angle. The SEE is good for smaller projects, but I am not a good enough operator to pick up decent load of brush with either backhoe or loader. Thumb or some sort of rake or clamping...

General Hood, do you know which missile WD40 was developed to protect?

Ahab, I could use it to replace my wallet chain! Nobody could get it then. :driver:

I am contemplating putting a mechanical(not hydraulic) thumb on the backhoe, to help pick up brush piles and debris for loading onto trailer. Has anyone else decided to do that? Did it work for you?

Well that makes more sense than anything else I imagined. So I need a door key, master battery key, starter key, the throttle set to start position, foot on the clutch and now a padlock key or combo. What part of these was made of platinum?

One more question for the collective experience of the room. Why this chain? If you were supposed to throw out an anchor when the brakes failed, mine is missing. :D

Ooooooh! Good idea, that would be simpler. We may have several operators, and would solve explaining it every time. (DW may be one of the operators, better to fix than explain why it ain't right to begin with) BTW, having 2 rippers is just gloating, when so many starving SEE owners going...

Is there any way to determine if it is full or empty before I dismount mine? (other than 'it won't start in cold weather') and is there a check valve or something to keep it from venting if I remove it to check it?

Good and bad today. Determined my SEE was RRAPed in 2009 - yea!! Also figured out that PTO indicator light and 4WD w/o diff lock indicator light are reversed. PTO comes on when in 4WD, and visa versa. I am thinking changing the wires at the fuse box might be the easiest fix. Ideas from the...

General Update SEE workaround crane General update. I said earlier that I would post some pictures of our McGyvered crane ala excavator, to let you guys decide if you could do something similar with the SEE backhoe for those times you might need a lifting device, but not another machine. It...

Thanks for that. I will assume that H4's are commonly available. Were 24v LEDs hard to source? Last but not least, after removing the protection grid from the light, how does the light housing come apart? Mine was repainted not too long ago, and I would like to do as little damage as possible...

Interesting to learn about the Big Bend trip, now in progress. Glad people are out enjoying their toys/investments and not just maintaining garage queens. Are any plans for other get togethers in the future?

We each have our own view of the world, mine is perhaps a little more cautious than some others. In the present, it is a good place for quiet contemplation, recreation... and target practice.
