I would start with a coolant tester and see what you are protected too. It has been ungodly cold and if your coolant mixture was light, you could have frozen the block. That could mean more than just a head gasket. Obviously worst case anyway. Hope it is something as simple as glow plugs...
That is a valid question. I would wonder how if the coolant is stagnant as he claims that it could have even got there in the first place. It isn't like they filled the block with coolant and put the plates on.
In order for the fluid to flow as he claims the pressure would have to be...
How could they lose help? It is family run. Been the same guys there for the past 20 years that I dealt with them. By far the best off road shop in NOVA.
Totally agree. The problem is that this guy defends his product with theory and has zero verifiable proof that his product is better than the other designs out there or that his product does anything at all. Instead of testing he puts his resources into pretty paint colors and flashy web...
Cool write up, but still no test results? BTW, how were you able to determine that the coolant is stagnant? Is there some anti-convection process that occurs that stops there?
Agree with papakb. You would really need to be a master fabricator to pull it off, and if you have that skill, you probably wouldn't need to start with a b pillar because of the amount of work involved.
I tend to focus on practicality over coolness. I don't plan on cruising the mean streets of Baghdad and where I live, I really don't need to be bullet proof so I really don't see the value. My days of trying to look cool are long over.
Again, please show the data. As Retiredwarhorses stated in post #15
which was responded to by Joe
He further made this statement
Sounds to me like all this existing supportive data may be wrong because he claims to have done something different, but again, no real data to support this...
Totally agree. While I am not shocked that people that work at DMV are ignorant on the subject, it blows my mind that people that post here are such. There was no way that mine was street legal when I bought it. It didn't have seat belts. It was missing headlights. There were probably 4 or...
How is that? By trying to hold someone accountable for his claims? Not sure why that bores you, but the guy made claims and won't support them. Funny you will cry about me, but won't say a word to someone who is selling a product that he can't support a single claim and at best hopes that...
Why should this guy get a free pass? Maybe you should go back and read #15 and #16. A legitimate vendor would post real data to support their product instead of nonsense making claims that he is selling his product to the army as legitimacy of his kit and why it is better than any other...
Are we to believe that the DOD is purchasing a product that has absolutely no verifiable data as to it's claimed functionality? This just gets better and better. :goodjob:
If your springs have sagged, then coil spacers will restore your ride height. It won't change your ride much. Sagged springs just have less compression.
Odd, I didn't use the catalyst with mine. I specifically asked the guys at SW and they said type 2 did not need a catalyst. Maybe I got type 9 and confused water based with 'moisture cured'? In any case whatever I bought was what the local National guard was buying and the other type wasn't...
My suggestion would be to call the SW in Jacksonville on Powers Ave. and ask for the paint that they sell to Camp Blanding. Sounds like you are having it shipped anyway so it shouldn't make a difference. They sold me the same type 2 paint that they sell them and it was about $100 a gallon and...
It is sold through the OEM coatings division no other SW will have a clue. You can find locations here - http://oem.sherwin-williams.com/locations
The two you will find most common are Type 2 and Type 9. Type 2 is the water based. Type 9 is solvent based. Type 2 dries super fast and is...
I went with Sherwin Williams CARC. It was about $100 for a gallon and a gallon was enough for an over spray inside and out with a little left over. The color match was perfect as was the finish. I looked at rapcoparts and even Behr as some have used. The only justification I could find in...
