I didn't thin that much into it, but I see what you are saying. I did left for 5 seconds and then right for 5 seconds a total of 40 times which did seem like a lot. Could quite possibly work with half the effort. I did try the same as Juan with it running and on the ground. I wasn't as lucky...
This is the procedure that needs to be followed exactly as stated - http://www.hummerknowledgebase.com/susp/ppsp.html
MODEL: HMMWV
SUBJECT: Power Steering Bleed Procedures
DEFICIENCY: The current bleed procedures in TM9-2320-280-20-2, dated Jan 96, Para 8-29, may not expel all air out of the...
You can as stated run them without the bead locks. The 16.5 was used by the big 3 in the late 70s OE without bead locks. I have ran them around 10psi in mud without losing a bead. Probably wouldn't go that low on rocks without a bead lock.
That is a solid point. In the world of modification the suggestion is to start at the end of the line and work your way back. That would mean tires and wheels, suspension, driveline, etc. so that you are not getting into that situation where your modification has created down stream failure...
My view on upgrades is need based and value for time and effort. I haven't seen an excessive amount axle failures that would drive me to want to spend the time and effort to upgrade them. Would they be better? Sure, but is using a larger caliber bullet better when you can accomplish the task...
Congrats on your purchase. Please say that you were joking with the low mileage thought.
As for swapping the shafts, what is your need for the extra beef and what do you expect to gain? It is a lot of money, time, and effort for something that unless you are planning on converting it to and...
That is a valid concern. The 16.5 has been around for years and never really caught on. The 16.5 was design change from the traditional tires with a 15 degree bead angle as opposed to 5 degrees. This works better with bead locks because you don't have the safety ridge in the wheel to keep the...
There are lots of steelies that will bolt up. The 8 lug bolt circle is very common and has been used by all the big 3. The Humvee specific issue with those is the offset that the wheels will stick out because of the offset which may make the tires rub when turning and the weight capacity isn't...
Here is a link with good info on the wheels - http://www.flashoffroad.com/features/Wheels/wheel_use.htm I don't know the relation ship to Cepek and the wheels, but here is a link to them - http://hummerproducts.com/hummer-wheels.asp#&panel1-4&panel2-3
What relevance does the hold harmless have in regards to your situation? A hold harmless is an agreement between a buyer and a seller stating the buyer won't sue the seller. Using the same nonsensical line of thought, if you bought a vehicle with a salvage title, you sign a hold harmless...
It is a sealed system that should have no exposure to contaminants. If there is something contaminating your coolant, a filter is the least of your concern. Flushing is always a debate. There is no real easy way to flush your cooling system and when you change your coolant, you are only...
"Clean title" is the biggest scam next to those advertising "actual miles". There is nothing clean about a title. Where it came from has nothing to do with how you are able to register it in your state. Even once it is registered, there is no guarantee that they won't eventually send you a...
I would try to bleed the system before investing in a new pump. The procedure is very specific and has to be followed exactly. Mine was doing something similar and I was about to replace the pump and figured I was given solid advice here on the bleeding procedure. Worst case and it is the...
For auto transmissions, I use nothing and just follow regular maintenance. Much in the same way you hear hype about seafoam being the greatest thing since sliced bread, you also hear stories of the negative effects of it cleaning crud that keeps parts lubricated and together. I have a hard...
Pretty sure that the gauge manufactures are aware of humidity and take steps to make sure that the gauges are dry and sealed during manufacturing. If not, moisture would occur right from the start.
