The condenser that dies is the one right next to the points on the breaker plate. Mine once crapped out at 58 mph and the engine backfired so severely it blew my muffler into pieces. Happened late at night on I-45 downtown Houston elevated. I was able to limp to a safe location.
I did long ago. Have to shorten the frame behind the bogie. No fun drilling the 10 holes through the frame for the 5th wheel. Plumbing mods for the glad hands on the catwalk. Tractor protection valve needed.
These are not tactical or unit markings, they are related to long term storage. For example C/C means condition code. I can’t read anything else. These markings do not need to be preserved.
I ran across one of these. OK I know it's gas and loud. Is this usable for some kind of solar battery bank backup recharge generator or power outage generator used with batteries and a 24-120 inverter? I think the 4 cyl mil std gas engine can be converted to natural gas.
I've always cranked for a few seconds with the engine stop pulled out. Still takes a few more seconds for pressure to register on the gauge, so yes the rods are getting pounded with whatever oil is still there from last run.
Very unusual. What brought you to the diagnosis of the transmission being at fault? Could the engine be dying on its own?
Transmission solenoids only apply pressure to clutches etc when power is supplied to them, so you can eliminate unintended clutch operation by unplugging the transmission...
Suggest you get under the truck with your voltmeter and see what ya got. Do you have 24 volts at the starter? Do you have 24 volts at the solenoid when someone turns the ignition to crank?
Is the pump a Bosch? A highly competent injection pump rebuilder should be able to reman it. Your oil in coolant issue could be a pinhole in the oil to water heat exchanger. The TMs for this generator exist somewhere but good luck finding them.
